Hi juice and welcome to the forum, send as much info to back up your claim as you can, it certainly can't hurt.
Hi you can find several templates for your letter if you google. ppi letter template or similar. Some even have a list of reasons for you to use or edit. I kept my letter to Barclays relatively short and put more detail in the questionnaire.

    Dear Sir or Madam,

    Re: Account number: xxxx123

I am writing in relation to the payment protection (PPI) policies which I believe were mis-sold to me.

    1. Re:. Personal Loan reference xxxxxxxxxxxx/ Payment Protection Policy No: xxxxxxxxxxxx

I purchased the above policy from you in ddddd in connection with the loan agreement referenced above.

    2. Re:. Personal Loan reference xxxxxxxx / Payment Protection Policy No: xxxxxxx

I purchased the above policy from you in dddd in connection with the loan agreement referenced above.

I believe that I was mis-sold these policies for the reasons given in the questionnaires, and wish you to investigate my complaint according to your normal complaint procedures.

Unless you can prove that the policies were fair and reasonable and that I was treated fairly when I was sold the insurance, I demand a full refund of the Premiums and any subsequent charges on it that I have paid. An amount of 8% interest is also expected to be added to each payment.

    Yours faithfully,

I am starting a complaint about mis sale of insurance on a Bank of Scotland loan & I am going to add a list of what I have included in my complaint. ie copies of credit agreement & the policy, on the covering letter and keep a copy.--just in case:(

    Hope this helps.

Identicle to my document Placida c was left blank!!! and further to that the figures after "you apply for the following additional insurance cover" were left blank!!!. I made sure that this was highlighted in my complaint as I felt they were doing everything they could to disguise the fact that you were paying anything
Also mention the fact that it was front loaded, this is frowned upon by the regulators ;)

    Thanks for reply dilus.
The sales advisors we dealt with had obviously had the same quality training. I arranged my loan on phone and know I was not asked about pre existing medical conditions or if I had any other cover-which I did! I will also add being mislead and single premium policy to my reasons for mis sale.
I wonder how many more of this type of credit agreements there are.
Fingers crossed for you to hear soon. Any idea of their present timescale?

I shall be looking out for your good news:):)
Bet I don't hear anything till the new year:(

If you put pressure on them like going to the CEO, it could speed it up for you

Remember, the banks are knowingly dragging their heels to pay out, probably saving up for the next round of big bonuses

Hi Placida, watched the Grand Prix now :D and had a look at your figures. Please don't take this as gospel, I use a recognised formula to work out the 8% but having looked at other peoples calculations it can be out a little bit either way so it is just a rough idea. I think the different banks use different formulas
Your PPI accounted for approximately 19.5% of your re payments = £74.27 per month
    8% over the term 84 months = £1,749.30
    PPI = £4,806.00
    So total should be around
    PPI £4,806.00 + 8% £1,749.30 = £6,555.30

I hope to hear good news in the next few weeks and an e mail to the CEO might help spur things on like beamerguy suggests ;)
    Successes
    Sainsbury's/BOS £6,400 Paid :)
    MBNA £3,600 Paid :)
  • Dose anyone have a postal address for GE Capital Bank PPI complaints please?

I can't seem to find one on the net.

    Thanks in advance

My wife and I do have a packaged account but we make sure we take full advantage of it by using the RAC cover and have both of our expensive mobile phones insured through it. The amount it costs us per month does appear to be cost effective in our opinion.
If you have a packaged account and are not taking full advantage of it then it is an unnecessary expense and you need to look into it, and maybe claim it back ;)

I have a Virgin/MBNA card I have had it a number of years and have been paying P.P.I. I didn't know it was optional and have had it already independently for I think 2 years. Does any one have any experience on MBNA I have heard that they can be rather difficult at times?

My MBNA credit card claim was the easiest, most straight forward claim I have done, letter posted 3rd Aug, 5th September claim upheld letter and breakdown adding up to 9k, no acceptance letter to be sent back, my MBNA credit card balance of £500 paid off on 8th September and remaining 8.5k received by cheque on 28th September.

    Hope this helps

  • I have received some tax back which I have let the tax office know about, but just been informed of another 2400k from HSBC and I have also been upheld on miss sold endowment and just waiting on figures but should be about 14k so I am just completing a letter to the tax office claiming all my postage 15x £1.52, 6 X £1.23, plus ink cartridges, paper and envelopes plus I have added my time 15 claims and 6 SAR @20mins per claim @£10 per hour and also £60 for the SARs. Don't know if it will work but I will keep you all posted.

My Wallis account card was covered by St Andrews, Santander sent me the policy, but they turned me down for miss selling even though I had adequate sick pay at work. This is lodged with FOS now.
