I had a rejection letter from FLA, stating that Santander (it was originally sold by tricity lombard for Scotish power in 1998) turned me down because they had no proof that the policy was miss sold. It wasn't fit for purpose as I had six mths full pay and six mths half pay and the loan was only for £528 for a cooker but every mth I paid 80p per £100, not a great deal but the policy wasn't fit for purpose and because this was in 1998, dont think the FOS would take it on.
Any help or advice gratefully received
Hi lise i'd give the fos a call and see what they say, you might be surprised.0 -
Hi hun, haven't been on since fri - no, it came straight to him, his bill will be in the post i would imagine!
I just hope they dont take 25% of the amount with the £300 still on as that will mean we will only end up with a few hundred pounds - we'l have less then the cmc!!! wouldnt mind, i have done all the emails, etc,etc...never mind.:o
Hope your ok...i will email you this week with regards to that fraud on the car and fill you in as we have had slight developments, it has gone to head office:) xx
hiya, regarding the cmc, if you have done the work and the success is due to your efforts, not the cmc, then they cannot ask you for money, if they do, point out that it was your work that got the refund, not them.
I shall look forward to hearing about the car fraud0 -
Food for thought,
Question:
If the people on here who have used CLAIM company's to get their PPI back, and have been stung by huge costs in doing so..........can they then offset this cost (as an expense) against the tax on the 8% interest ;)
thats an interesting thought grateful one you'd have to discuss with the tax office i should imagine, i think it's unfair that hmrc are taking anything out of it in the first place, as beamer says it's profit for the government through fraud isn't it, it's a shame the governments not helped everyone by coming down on the banks and helping us for a change0 -
Posted my relatively easy success with Barclays today.
Only started my complaint at beginning of August and didn't even receive an upheld letter or a date to expect my redress. £8300 was just put in my account!
Still asking them to look at calculations though.:(
Now going to put in a complaint for loan I had with BOS with creditcare bronze that I paid in full in 2007.
I intend to use same reasons for mis sale I did with Barclays but I have not seen Creditcare Bronze mentioned in any posts though some mention of ST. Andrews. Yes I have the policy!!!!
Seems I am in for a rocky journey-any tips???:)
Well done placida, congratulations:cool::cool::cool::T:T:T:beer::beer::beer::j:j:j:money::money::money::money::D:D:D:):):):):):)0 -
I have a Virgin/MBNA card I have had it a number of years and have been paying P.P.I. I didn't know it was optional and have had it already independently for I think 2 years. Does any one have any experience on MBNA I have heard that they can be rather difficult at times?
Hi smc i've now won a misold against mbna and my mate has now won misale as well0 -

The Virgin card is run by MBNA so you need to be talkiing to them.
Email the CEO of MNBA ian.odoherty@bankofamerica.com
Before that, check your PPI carefully, if it was a policy from St Andrews Group in Ireland (part of Llloyds), you will find that it is worthless and would never cover you. This is fraud committed by MNBA AND a very expensive one as well as MBNA sold the policy on a percentage of the balance of the card each month. If you were mis-sold then claim all premiums back plus interest0 -

So I guess I should ask for a copy of the original policy? Am I also right that I would need to pay £1 for this?0 -

MBNA always ask for a £1. Beware though, these thieves took my £1 and still haven't sent me my documents. To be honest I'm having no luck with MBNA on charges or PPI. Simply no response to letters in many cases and it's getting on my nerves.0 -

Ask for a copy of the PPI that St Andrews allowed MBNA to resell to its customers0
