had my first letter of lloyds dated 25th of august telling me i would get £880 of one loan refunded and my other loan paid off.i rang them and told them i didnt want the loan paid of and would keep paying the loan(through a debt management company £60 a month) and have my other refund aswell.was told thats ok would get two cheques now.1 for £880 and 1 for £5700,well after loads of phone calls which were a waste of time.i sent emails last week to everyone i could find on here connected to lloyds.well i have just got up this morning to find a cheque off lloyds for £5700 ok so the £880 is not here i can wait for that now i think.so in all 9 weeks from the letter they sent to getting the first cheque.thanks everyone here for helping me through this.so just to let you all know they are actually paying cheques out.looks like xmas in our house will be a good one.once again thank you all.
  • what bout if you already used a broker, and just found out you could do it yourself, because they over exaggerated the problem saying they need £1000 lawyer fees for 3 letters, and + 25% of the refund

    Hi,

just a quick question if anyone can help - RBS/Lombard rejected my ppi claim as they couldnt find the agreement - took them 16 weeks to get that far! So i sent them my copy which clearly shows PPI amount but makes no mention of the interest added because of it or how much of the monthly payment is going towards the PPI.

Just had a call from RBS saying i will get an answer and calculations within the week - but wouldnt say for definite if it was upheld but hoping so now. Just trying to work out what portion of the monthly payment might have been to PPI? my payments were approx £232.00 per month anyone have any ideas? the Upfront sum added to the loan was £1390. Any Help would be appreciated as if i get an offer - not sure if it will be right especially as RBS don't have any records of it apart from my agreement i sent!

Or as the loan has finished do i just get upfront payment back with 8 years interest? rather than PPI monthly payments as well?

  • Hi!
My partner signed up for PPI with Abbey when we got a mortgage in 2004. Although he was self employed The Abbey was very insistent. I refused. A few years later I followed discussions about missold PPI and signed him off.
I have been pondering about making a complaint since then (2007) and eventually decided to give it a try at the beginning of October this year, with not much hope of success. I followed Martin's tips and posted the claim.
About a week later we received a very nice reply from Santander offering the full refund of our payments plus interest at 8% on the money paid! We obviously rejoiced; we did better with the money than we could have done by putting it in a good saving account ;o)
We are now waiting for it to paid.
The letter clearly says that the money has to be declared to the taxman; no problem there.
THANK YOU MARTIN! The refund will help us pay for our wedding
