Yes I Banked with Lloyds for a few years but their shady ways mean I have gone to a basic bank account with the co op. I know we are all able to say no to things but my financial situation is completely down to Lloyds. They call you in for a "financial review" but what it really amounts to is to coerce you into taking out loans or topping up existing ones and taking credit cards.0 -
WOw Cappo thats an awful lot of complaints!!!
However, when speaking to the Halifax representative that was given my email from whoever looked at in the CEO office, she did say that if she could times my complaint by 4000, it wouldn't even touch the sides of the amount they are dealing with!!!
As for swapping banks, they are all in it together, doesn't matter who you go to, eventually you will be disappointed with them. I'm currently a little stuck with the Halifax, I have another account with Santander thats used as back up, and an old Yorkshire bank account thats had 80p in it for ten years.
I wouldn't trust any of them with my money anymore, so I feel the best thing to do, is cash the cheques in whichever I see fit, and as soon as it is available, withdraw as much as I can apart from what I need to pay direct debits, and line my mattress with it, because as soon as they all collapse under this huge PPI bill.......and what they all share with each other across the world.....they will close their doors and none of us will have access to anything!!!!0 -
Hi,
I am after a bit of advise.
I have made 2 claims to have PPI on credit cards returned, one with MBNA where I received my money back and I have just received an offer from HSBC.
The problem I have with the HSBC one is that my account was open from 29/11/04 - 16/02/09, they have offered to refund payments made between 08/03/2005 and 10/12/2007. I am going to ring them to ask about the end dates of the claim, but in the offer they state that they only keep info on my account for the last 6 years. How can I get the money back prior to this as they ask for statements to prove PPI payments were made which I no longer have?0 -
Hi Beamerguy

MAKE YOUR WEEKEND BETTER
Clearly these disgusting banks are now knowingly using delaying tactics and referring people to the FOS. The time will come that the FOS will be unable to function.
THE LETTER
Below you will see a letter that YOU should send to Government, your local MP, the FSA, The media and anyone you can think of who will show interest. Email it or send by post, MAKE YOU VIEWS KNOWN before these banks clog up the FOS completely. That is their tactic, so far its working and it's UP TO YOU TO CHANGE THIS, WE WILL IF EVERYONE SENDS THIS LETTER ... THANKS

PPI Reclaiming Discussion part 4
There are over 1000 pages all relating to PPI and re-payments
Since the Court ruling earlier this year, whilst banks have little option but to repay to consumers, there is a very noticable trait/pattern happening with the way these banks are now handling complaints. There is a huge increase of consumers being told to contact the FOS with their claim/complaint.
I understand now that the FOS are receiving some 2500 complaints a week and resulting in a huge backlog which as the FOS say, could take over a year to clear.
This clearly is detremental to those in hardship who are desperate to receive monies back, stolen from them by the banks
It appears that whilst banks are paying out, it is not a bottomless pit for them and therefore they are now knowingly using delaying tactics and rejecting claims and referring to the FOS ?
I would even suggest that the banks are now running a cartel between them to use these stalling tactics.
The worst offenders in this "cat and mouse" game are
1: ROYAL BANK OF SCOTLAND
2: LLOYDS BANKING GROUP
3: CAPITAL ONE
The smaller institutions also play this game
These banks are fully aware that there is no other avenue for the consumer other than place their complaint with the FOS and they are using this service for their own means to delay payments even though they are aware that there is a huge rise of upheld complaints by the FOS. The more these banks can refer back to the FOS creating a backlog, the more time they have to pay back monies stolen in the first place.
You are of course aware that the banks have committed fraud on a major scale under The Fraud Act 2006 ?
A financial penalty should be applied to these banks if they have rejected a claim yet the FOS has upheld the same claim.
If the penalty was big enough, it would stop banks rejecting Adlib to suite their own purposes.
This method of trading should be outlawed by the authorities as it is not "in the interests of the consumer", It is certainly not in the interests of the FOS if they have such a backlog that could take over 12 months to clear. The banks wil ensure that the backlog grows and grows.
We are already seeing severe reaction to the banking industry with the protests,
It is indeed the responsibility of the Government and the Authorities such as the FSA to put an end to such mal practice the Banks are using against the consumer.
What are the authorities currently doing about this under the Fraud Act 2006

Whilst I know I am responsible for my own situation, I will not easily forgive the 'banker' who asked me in for a 'financial review', then gave me a large loan to pay off credit card debts that when I asked to be given time to go home to allocate the loan to my debts as I saw best (the loan was not sufficient to cover all debts) said that I should pay the Lloyds CC first and when I said no strongly, many times, still, in front of me took the amount out of my loan to pay off the Lloyds credit card in full. Even as I protested, she told me it was for the best.
It was a long while ago and I was very financially naive, but I still kick myself for even taking the loan, but then to allow her to use half of it in that way makes me so mad with myself as well as her.[STRIKE]DFW Nerd number 729[/STRIKE]Debt Free & Proud0
