Hmmmmmmmm---you say 8.50 every month--I was under the impression that PPI on all Credit Cards & Store Cards was a % of outstanding balance--so the fee would be variable ????
Sorry meant to say the that my limit is 550 on card - pretty much (bar two - three months) been at my limit for the past 7 years......so 1.50 per £100 I have on card - rip off I know but was missold as I was a fulltime student with no job so shouldnt have had it all!

IF you have all the statements--PPI will be listed on each one as a separate item--it is usuually around 79 pence per £100 of outstanding balance - ie for £500 it would be 3.95 for instance. There may also be a separate entry (s) for interest applied for Cash Advances & Purchases
If you don't have the statements-then you need to go through the SAR route-which someone will no doubt direct you to.

My grandmother started walking five miles a day when she was 60. Now she's 97 years old and we don't know where the hell she is.0 -

I pay £1.50 per £100 on my account - I am now in the final stage of reclaiming and sent all evidence from HMRC (national insurance report) to prove I was not in in any form of employment when store card and ppi taken out. They are now reviewing evidence to make a decision - fingers crossed enough to clear card!

Following on from a successful campaign against Northern Rock I deci
eided to go after Egg as well. I have been contacting them via the message centre online and basically asked if my application was made online. They confirmed this had happened in 2000. I said that I was concerned that I may have fallen foul of their pre ticked selection boxes on the online form for PPI,Their latest response is as follows:
Your application was made online, and the card repayment protection was taken out upon this application.
When you made the application and agreed to take out the card repayment protection policy you would have been asked more than once during the application if you wanted to take out the policy before this application was submitted to us.
This charge has also shown on at least your last 12 months statements online and you're able to view your statements online at any time which would show this charge.
Further more I'm also unable to refund any charges you've incurred for the following reasons:
- A paper copy of the Card Repayment Protection terms and conditions were provided with your credit card agreement.
- You're now outside the 31 days cooling off period in which you could have cancelled and we would have refunded back any premium charged.- As they you've been protected by CRP, I'm unable to refund any of the premiums.
I cancelled this product last November after reading what a scam it is on this website. I feel they're basically saying "You've paid it for 8 years so why are you complaining now about it"!!
I've told them I still intend to persue a claim against them and will be making a claim in writing along with an SAR. If not fully satisfied I will then be going to the FOS.
Do you think I will get anywhere???
Hi there
If that was the first response, write back and tell them you've only recently learnt mis selling of the PPI in the media with their business included.
Tell them your not satisifed and will find ways of taking this matter further if they do not uphold your complaint as you still strongly believe you were mis sold this product, online application or not.
(they have fobbed you off hun) its a standard response, so write back until you have exhausted their complaint procedures.
Keep it going hun, don't back down, good luck and post again for help when needed.;) XThe one and only "Dizzy Di"0 -
Hi, newbie here and I have posted this elsewhere, but realised this might be a better thread to join:
Long and short of it is, had a loan with MBNA (2005), PPI was added (even though I had already applied for voluntary redundancy but this question was not addressed over the phone), which I am in the process of reclaiming thanks to the advice on this site. The additional issue is that I had the means on 3 occassions to settle the loan early (e.g. redundancy payout, a pension that was cashed in etc) and called MBNA to request a settlement figure on each occassion (they even acknowledge the 3 dates when I made these calls). Each time I was effectively advised "it is not worth settling early because the interest is all paid at the start so you wont make any saving". As there seemed to be no saving to be had, I didnt settle the loan and instead kept that money in savings accounts. I included this issue as part of my PPI reclaim, and MBNA sent me their 'final reply' on the matter so I am pursuing next stage.
Is this practice legal? In fact, was this even the case on my loan or were they just fibbing? Either way - it seems grossly negligent to advise someone with the means to do so not to settle a personal debt, and unfair to charge interest across a 5 year period upfront.
Thanks for 'listening'. I am interested in knowing whether it was wise of me to include this issue in my initial PPI complaint, or whether I should have addressed it separately (and if there is alternative paperwork I should have used). The loan was cleared in October last year becaue I wanted a mortgage so paid it anyway (despite 'no savings to be made').
Hi there
I have left a post below for you in your other thread as well, but not to worry.
You should be able to cancel anytime, its your choice hun.
Personally I would write separately, as it can get quite confusing, but that is up to you hun.
Keep going with this, I'm sure it will be resolved - eventually.
Good luck.;) XThe one and only "Dizzy Di"0 -
Hello again, it has now been 6 weeks and I still have not heard a dicky bird from Lloyds, shall I just carry on and wait the 8 weeks and go official or give Lloyds a nudge?
My experience with Lloyds - it was right at the end of 8 weeks I heard, but a nudge will do no harm, good luck.;) XThe one and only "Dizzy Di"0 -
Hi I posted this on another thread but was advised to post it here:
Hi All, I got a letter from A&L stating that I "may" have had a PPI on my loan etc etc turns out I did, I did not even know that is why I have never even read the PPI threads  Well it turns out I paid £5.18 per month for the PPI but:eek: I paid the loan off early. Loan £5000 paid £123.20 per month (£5.18 PPI ), I only paid the loan for 10 month and then paid it in full, does that mean I will be able to claim back £51.80 (£5.18 x10).
Also, I had a Halifax loan around the same time that I have paid off, did Halifax also have the "hidden" PPI around the same time?
Thanks for reading0 -
Hi can anyone give me some advice. I took out a loan in 2003 and restructured the loan in 2005. My payments were £40.00 ppi a month for 5 years. I have received a letter form Nat West today and they have said that they are not going to upheld my complaint but have offered me £750.00 good will offer for each policy total £1500.00. I still feel unhappy as i really wanted all the money back that i paid. Would you advice me to carry on and go to the financial Ombudsman and how do i go about this ? Also if the FO do not up held my complaint will i lose the offer so far from Nat West ?0
