I claimed through the hardship route,I first contacted them on 10th Nov, they sent the f/h forms and these were completed and returned by recorded delivery.
Along the way they also requested further information which was supplied.
I recieved a letter dated 3rd March,stating that I had been accepted as a f/h case.
They would be making an offer and to sign and return the form to accept.
Well today I rang to chase the wherabouts of the offer only to be told that they sent out the letter in error and that they would not be making an offeras my claim had been rejected!
I was very shocked and asked that she look into it ,she offered to look into the matter and send an email to other dept will take 3-5 days for a response!!!
I then contacted the FO who has said that they will contact Natwest directly. Watch this space, what do you think?
Sorry this is so long.

They have accepted. End of. I cannot believe they have done that to you. Hopefully FOS will sort this out. Totally unbelievable and I am sorry you are having to go through this as a F/h case. Good luck to you:mad:0 -
I made a new thread on the forum about this and then Di suggested I should post it here.
I got a letter last week from the Financial Ombudsman saying that despite Lloyds saying they did not mis-sell me PPI, that they have agreed to the FO's ruling as a gesture of goodwill.
From the wording of the letter I believe that I will get the full PPI premium refunded plus 8% interest per annum simple (whatever that means). I took the loan out over 5 years and the final payment was made in November '08. Lloyds have also agreed to pay £200 compensation.
I'm just wondering if anyone can give me rough idea of how much I can expect to recieve?
Total PPI Premium was £5031 on a £25000 loan over 5 years.
Also does anyone know if the refund comes as a cheque or directly into my bank. If it goes directly into my bank they can claim a lot of it back by cancelling my o/draft facility which I use all the time. According to the letter Lloyds should settle within the next 12 weeks.
I'm at work at the moment, but I can give more exact figures tomorrow.
Any advice appreciated.0 -

saw an earlier interesting post that someone said - 'it is a red herring if they say they were not regulated bla bla and wont pay PPI back'. having a hell and alljob with la redoute/redcats, who are giving just that same reason. and wont hold up a thing. didnt even ask for the darned PPI!!!!! they then said that because they werent regulated, the FOS couldnt helpme but enclosed a leaflet of how to complain to the FOS!!! what doughnuts these people are.xx0

I too made a claim with Redcats,no response and still after 10 weeks no SAR either. Reported them to the Information Commisioner and also to FO. However the FO wrote back to ssay that Redcats we not regulated until 2005 and that
I did not have a case .I have since found an old statement which is dated 2007.
Surely this would have been covered by the regulation!Do you think that I should send this to the FO?SPC £500 well will try very hard.

they seem to be bucking out of everything. its taken almost a year t get them to send what they say is my daughtrs signed agreement with them, where she agreed to the PPI, and its a standard agreement-type thing, with nothing filled in on it. no name, address, account number, nothing. not even some boxes ticked. so she clearly didnt agree to the insurance at all, but they said whether she did or didnt doensnt matter because they werent regulated. sounds like they are a law unto themselves.
redcats said that they werent regulated when the insurance came into force; whether that will affect later nsurance payments, i dont know. would be interested to know because we have all the satements for the last six years.0 -

Hi there hun.;)
I would contact them and see what they have to say.
I would also ask if they were covered by GISC prior to 2005 where as you know the FSA taken over in Jan 2005,just to double check this out, as i know with some of other cases the FOS were unaware until people spoken up, one of them was in regards of Welcome Finance.
I'm sure they must have a list there somewhere.
What about the FLA (Financial leasing association) would they be able to help?
Ask if they are listed with them, ring them though, an email you may wait for some time before you hear anything.
