PPI Reclaiming Discussion part 4

Joelliott74 wrote: »Hi,
Can anyone help me...
We recently made a claim from Halifax for PPI which tookthem several weeks to respond. Eventually they sent us a letter stating that they were going to repay all of our PPI, and that we would have to sign the document to agree to the way they were going to calculate it. We sent this off at the beginning of September and having chased them on Monday, (6 weeks later).... the lady from Halifax said that they still hadnt calculated the amount payable, then went on to say that there was a backlog, and no timescale could be given for when it would be settled. She also stated that in fact that there may not be any money to pay to us!!!
Has this happened to anyone else, and does anyone have any advice on how I can move forward with this.
Many Thanks Jo
Well done on your success!
Unfortunately, yes there is a backlog, but contact them often, and also contact the CEO of your concerns as well, because you have received a letter weeks back and was told your complaint's upheld and also mention what you were told about them may not having any money left.
Keep at them, good luck. The one and only "Dizzy Di"0 -
can anyone advise please, i made a claim for ppi to clydesdale bank in glasgow by letter on june this year, since then i have received 4 letters back with the exact same response saying that they are looking into my claim and will be back in touch within 4 weeks and an apology for the time it is taking and that if i wasnt satisfied i could go to the financial ombudsman with my complaint
Hi there
This is standard and because of the backlogs, but do contact them direct and ask for a timescale of when its possible you will hear.
Please be aware the FOS also have backlogs and can take some time, so hopefully you will receive your decision soon, and with a bit of luck in your favour, good luck.;)The one and only "Dizzy Di"0 -

Greetings and Salutations,
Another update for one and all!
Have just received an email from my MP who is very happy to take on my case and raise a bit of hell with RBS, in terms of the delay to payments in the cases of accepting an offer.
Can I urge everyone to do this? Email, text, carrier pigeon, telegram to your MP’s. The same way we are rallied for their causes when it’s time for elections, is the same way that we need to utilise them for our causes when need be.
To quote a great film, “Government should fear the people, not the people should fear the government”0 -
After sending a letter of complaint to HSBC they have sent me a questionnaire and told me i need to fill it in. Do i need to do this as they have all my information surly!!0
