PPI Reclaiming Discussion part 4

Hi,
Can anyone help me...
We recently made a claim from Halifax for PPI which tookthem several weeks to respond. Eventually they sent us a letter stating that they were going to repay all of our PPI, and that we would have to sign the document to agree to the way they were going to calculate it. We sent this off at the beginning of September and having chased them on Monday, (6 weeks later).... the lady from Halifax said that they still hadnt calculated the amount payable, then went on to say that there was a backlog, and no timescale could be given for when it would be settled. She also stated that in fact that there may not be any money to pay to us!!!
Has this happened to anyone else, and does anyone have any advice on how I can move forward with this.
Many Thanks Jo0 -

Normally the only way they can do this is if there are arrears on the account, I'd go back to them and ask them, no doubt though you will get a completely different answer from another call handler. Maybe they mean that the Halifax is going to go bust again and we'll all be singing for our money! Thanks to all the competition posters.0 -

If it's a straight forward single loan as opposed to cc/re financed/multi loan I might be able to calculate in his absence. I would need ALL the figures though. pm me if you like or post the figures. It's the 8% standard interest that takes the time to calculate so would need to know how much the PPI was per month and how long the loan was overSuccesses

Email the CEO at this address
David.Thorburn@eu.nabgroup.com
and copy this lot too which is the customer enquiry team
AQU.PPI@eu.nabgroup.com
The head of ppi is Gillian Cruickshanks
I've emailed them and this kick started things for us, it may work, I was pleasant and expressed how disappointed I was, loyal customer for many years blah blah, the ceo email will possibly be then passed on to a ppi manager and we had someone called Carol Craig, we got an offer within a week of speaking to her, and we got our payment two days after they received the acceptance form, and on it they asked for bank account details to pay the money to.
hope this helps and let us know how you get on.:DThanks to all the competition posters.0 -

Let me get this right they said
"that they were going to repay all of our PPI"
"we would have to sign the document to agree to the way they were going to calculate it"
"She also stated that in fact that there may not be any money to pay to us"
1: They said they would repay
2: There is only one calculation on refunds plus interest and you only to sign to accept it.
3: As they already said they would repay you, what does "may not" mean ?????
That could be read that Halifax have no money ???
Go back to them and confirm what they have told you which is
they sent us a letter stating that they were going to repay all of our PPI0
