Hi most of them i think go back to when computers started becoming a popular way for the banks to store info certainly back to the early nineties, most of them probably go back to the early eighties although they will never tell you this, but certainly before 6 years, best answer eirelav is depends on the bank.0 -

Hi
In my experience so far, they have gone back to the late 90's, and now currently dealing with a few from the mid 90's.
They should hold data for the last 6 years, and some will hold details for even longer, but it seems every bank differs from one to the other.
I recall on a SAR of receiving data as from the late 90s, this request was last year, so it looks like it varies.;)The one and only "Dizzy Di"0 -

Hi mate hope you ok, i've been copying all emails to customer "care" to the ceo as well there not interested but would you keep chasing them for 6 months if you knew you did'nt have it, they won't give me my credit card and loan agreements even though i've sarred them and been chasing them now for what seems like an eternity, the gloves are off now, i can play dirty as well lol.:beer::)
I think contacting your MP about this could be a good thing, and even if you have a good local paper that may be interested in the story, what about Watchdog, have you already contacted the ICO in regards to them not even giving you the details for your SAR.
I'm not holding my breath for RBS 16 weeks is up next Monday, luckily i'm off for the next two weeks, three days of work to go:jwhich means from next Monday i'll be on the phone every day, emails going etc etc .Thanks to all the competition posters.0 -
Hi Ben
Did you send the the reclaim questionnaire to make a complaint?
If you've not even received a letter to confirm they have received your complaint questionnaire, you could chase them up, by either ringing them or emailing at the CEO dept, in hope they deal with it quicker, tell them you've not heard a thing since making a complaint.

Not sure if you aware, but the main of the banks including this one was given extra time by the FSA, the norm is that of 8 weeks, but they were previously given 16 weeks due to backlogs and at the start of last month down to 12 weeks for the time being before it goes back to the usual 8 weeks again.
So depending how long you sent your complaint will depend on the time you will be waiting.
Still you should have received a letter to confirm they will be dealing with it.;)
Hi,
Thanks for the reply, yes i did complete the questionnaire fully and sent evidence (believe it or not i still have the original agreement for the PPI, so i sent that too). I sent it recorded delivery to my local branch. But when i just checked the advice by Martin in his article it gives a different address to send to, so maybe that was the problem?? Not sure..
I will send an email using the CEO address you gave me, see if that works, if not then i will send another letter to the Cardiff address for HSBC. But im getting impatient!0 -

Hi
Have you tried checking old banking statements for the account number, the bank may even let you know, the loan account number is normally shown next to the loan monthly repayment, if you bank online it normally allows you to go back to about 2002.;) xxThe one and only "Dizzy Di"0 -
