Thanks for that.
I wasn't sure if I could or not. Will get a letter off to HBOS today, I need all the money I can get at the moment as I'm off work on maternity leave so this will be a nice little bonus if I get it!0 -
hello, newbie asks, around 18 years ago i took out a loan over 3 years with ppi with the TSB, when i took out the loan i was told it would make acceptance easier even though i did not want it, i paid off that loan around1 year early. the ppi was around £8 per month, however i have just found out i have been paying the ppi part £8 for almost 16 years? it was not stopped when the loan was paid off early ?? i did not even know i had it, i could have claimed against it during the 16 years of payment . do i have a claim?? best 1st steps to take ? claim firm ? direct contact with tsb lloyds ? thank you for any advice .0

Hi i'd say you have cause for complaint contact the bank first and see what they say, have you any old bank/ credit card statements filed anywhere?0 -

Hi,
Got SAR info - agreement in amongst everything, no T&C's:
On top of form - guaranteed acceptance for mortgage customers
form filled in by bank (not my handwriting)
payments insurance ticked, however not by me.
my signature is on another page
The paperwork for mortgage/CC etc was all done at the same time I just signed were I was asked to sign, I certainly didn't ask for payment protection.
Only cancelled it when their advisor advised me that I could, as I was having trouble paying minimum payment - paying around £40-50 a month at this stage. I feel very very stupid and naive.
Don't know how this will effect my complaint. I complained that I didn't ask for it and I certainly didn't want it.
Anyway I'll see what happens!!
On another note, what have people been conplaining to CEO's about, i'm about to do it myself, just don't know how to word it!
is it the way their staff have dealt with the complaint ie not investigated it properly or to ask them to reconsider decision - or both?
Thanks0 -

Hi irnbru as you know i've been complaining on a regular basis to LTSB about ppi they say i did'nt have, i've emailed the ceo several times normally copies from customer care along the lines of wanting to have my complaint investigated fairly i've gone over everything with them sometimes i think it can work wonders other times it makes no difference but it certainly can't hurt.0 -
Can anyone please advise? I used the template to apply for information from Halifax on PPI. The loan and PPI has been paid off. Their reply said, "Please note that Section 78 only applies during the lifetime of the agreement." and so have not given me the info I asked for. Is this true....can they do this?0

Hi there
You can still make a reclaim without the requirement of the above, and it's because its an account no longer running, however they should still hold the data of the account going back to at least the last 6 years, where this info is requested for in forms of a full SAR (subject access request), this is of course optional to request for this, but if you do they have 40 calendar days to comply, and you have to enclose £10 cheque or postal order.
SAR letter link here if required:

To make a reclaim, you just complete the reclaim questionnaire below, send and keep copies for yourself as well.
Step 3.
