PPI Reclaiming Discussion part 4

UPDATE: A couple of weeks ago I posted that I had received an estimated refund from Barclays of £5633.47, today I have received another offer from Barclays for £6064.32 although the letter accompanying this offer says it is still an estimate I assume this is my final offer as there is an acceptance form & recalculated loan payments for the remainder of my loan (-PPI payments) included with this offer. Both acceptance & recalculated loan agreement have been immediately signed and will be posted back to them this afternoon, worryingly though the letter does say (again) that it could take them up to 40 working days for someone to contact me concerning my redress, does this mean another long wait for the payment to go into my account? Or is this 40 working days from when my original offer letter was sent out to me (1st September) ..... Confused? Not half as much as I am lol ... why can't banks be more clearer about their actions? :mad:0

Ask them for a schedule of their calculations so that we can compare notes? The banks are desperate to recruit contractors to get this mess sorted, you would have thought that with all their computer power they could simply press a button because all premiums paid and interest charged is known and 8% interest simple is.. er... simple!0

MoneyNon-Expert wrote: »I'd recently been made aware of making a claim to get back mis-sold PPI. My friend encouraged me to attempt to get my 'well earned' money back from 2 loans and a credit card dating back to about 2004(ish). These were with Nationwide, Alliance & Leicester and Virgin. I do recall A&L sending out paperwork about this some time ago (yrs!!), but I didn't action it at the time - can anyone please tell me if I'm too late to make a claim from any of these?
Any advice would be muchly appreciated.

I would indeed follow these up. I believe you have a time limit of 6 years from when you first made them aware of your complaint. Or 6 years from when you became aware of the mis-selling of ppi, which with all the media coverage of late is only very recent for most people. Go for it & good luck:D:p Perfer et obdurai dolor hic tibi proderit olim

Can anybody tell me why people have to make a complaint before they are put back in the position they would have been had the lender not shoved a useless insurance down your throats?0

Hi,
You may remember that I got a letter fom Funding corp stating that they didn't think my policy was missold, but if I was unhappy I could get back to them. I phoned and stated I was unhappy with response and sent SAR to them.
A few days after SAR info sent to me, they sent me a final response letter. You would think that as I had verbally informed them that I would be taking it further and the SAR, they would have delayed final response letter.
I emailed them in Sept to redress misselling points and raise new points of misselling. I have received no correspondence from them, so decided to phone today.
Not really about complaint, but why I had acknowledgement of email.
Anyway, I was then told they are not obliged to respond as complaint has been closed, I stated that I had raised new complaints and they told me that they would not be investigating this as they had issued their final response.
Is this right?

haha what a honest world that would be! :rotfl:
instead we live in a world of corporate greed and must have it now and if they can get away with it, then thats what they will do:D:p Perfer et obdurai dolor hic tibi proderit olim

After getting my not upheld letter on the 10th Septemeber, i asked your good selves for help.
I wrote back to them on 13th Septemeber (sent recoreded delivery and delivered 14th Sept) writing a load off tops stuff by Amersall.
I emailed Bob Diamond on the 20th attaching the letter and asking for his help. I received no reply from either. Resent the email to Bob on the 23rd.
Just called First Plus - answered by a human after 2 rings!!! to be told after she looked on the system that no letter has been received and added to the computer. I asked how long it normaly takes for them to be put on the system and she said straight away.
She advised me to resend the letter and has put a note on the system to say to expect a letter.
Am i being ignored or do you think it may actually have gone astray in their building somewhere?
when i resend the letter should i put in a covering letter saying that this is the second time i have sent it?
And finally !! I hand wrote my envelope last time and then found a prepaid one sent by them in with my rejection. should i use the prepaid and not bother paying for recorded delivery?
Thanks
