I have just had my PPI claim rejected by M&S Money on a personal reserve account. The account was closed in 2006 so they claim they don't hold any information regarding PPI on it. I know for a fact I was paying for PPI as when I was made redundant in 2005 they refused to pay out because of the payout that I got from my employer. Any advice on how to proceed from here would be gratefully received! What really annoys me is I am sure somewhere they do have information as I could see my account details on my experion report. They also took 16 weeks to tell me to get lost which adds insult to injury!

    Hi there

Write to tell them your not happy with waiting 16 weeks to be given the decision they came to, and to reject your complaint, and that you will be considering contacting the Information Commissioners office (ICO) in regards of your data, as you are aware they should still hold these for at least 6 years, where-as they should still therefore hold at least some of your details on files.
    http://www.ico.gov.uk/for_organisations/data_protection.aspx

If you've not done so yet, you could write to the banks data dept to request for a Subject access request (SAR), they must comply by 40 calendar days, you enclose the one off payment of £10 cheque or postal order.
There is a letter template for this below if required.

I would also ask the business to reconsider and give further details if you can, ask that they consider by 14 days, if you hear nothing or if they change nothing, then complain to the FOS.

    Good luck.

    Evening all you beautiful people

My hubby just gave me an agreement for car finance about 3 years go and it says something about optional ppi (gold) which we took out at the time of buying the car. Its for about £600. I certainly dont remember being given information about it and I was actually there when he bought the car. It was with Black Horse. Is there any point in trying to reclaim it. I think it was a one off payment from the paperwork and does anyone have a Black Horse address. Do I just send it to LTSB.

    Thanking you muchly.

    Hi

Yes give it a go, if you think it may have been mis sold.

You would pursue the dealer complaints or head office, as they were the ones responsible for selling and setting up the policy.;)

  • Hi All,

My girlfriend received her t&c's from Lloyds today and it has PPI included in it. However there is another column that I don't understand. It's for £900 (£22.18 per month) labelled "Loan for repayment of existing debts owed by you as referred to in condition 1(c)"

Condition 1(c) reads: Any amount lent to you to pay the optional Loan Protection premium or to repay any existing debts which you owe to any company in the LLoyds TSB group will be paid by us directly to settle amounts due.

If I read that correctly it implies she had other debt that Lloyds paid off. She says this was her first ever loan so that can't be possible. However, if she was mistaken then surely Lloyds should've provided information of this other debt when we requested all their information?

Any help explaining this would be appreciated

    Thanks

    Hi Anne

Have you tried emailing the CEO of the business as well?

I have been suggesting local MP's to write on your behalf as well to many in the same situation, don't know if it will help, but maybe worth a try if not getting anywhere with them, good luck. x;)
Do you have the e-mail of the CEO of RBS/

    please

    :rotfl::rotfl:

While the lady was reading through my file I could hear another FP operative, taking another call, down the line saying ' oh right so you want to cancel the PPI with us?.....oh really? .... Well of course you would have been told you could get this elsewhere and didn't need to take ours but you will find ours competitive'. :rotfl:

Anyway, is it the copy of the proof of recorded delivery receipt what I need to send?

    Thanks for your help

    Helen :D
