Hi , I put in a claim to RBS in June re mis-sold PPI . Since then I've phoned them twice and was told it had gone to be calculated etc . However since last Thursday I've been trying to phone them for an update but the phone is engaged every time ......I'm getting really annoyed now ..... Is there anyone else can I get in touch with ????? Thanks a lot , Anne
  • I have just had my PPI claim rejected by M&S Money on a personal reserve account. The account was closed in 2006 so they claim they don't hold any information regarding PPI on it. I know for a fact I was paying for PPI as when I was made redundant in 2005 they refused to pay out because of the payout that I got from my employer. Any advice on how to proceed from here would be gratefully received! What really annoys me is I am sure somewhere they do have information as I could see my account details on my experion report. They also took 16 weeks to tell me to get lost which adds insult to injury!

After getting my not upheld letter on the 10th Septemeber, i asked your good selves for help. :D

I wrote back to them on 13th Septemeber (sent recoreded delivery and delivered 14th Sept) writing a load off tops stuff by Amersall.

I emailed Bob Diamond on the 20th attaching the letter and asking for his help. I received no reply from either. Resent the email to Bob on the 23rd.

Just called First Plus - answered by a human after 2 rings!!! to be told after she looked on the system that no letter has been received and added to the computer. I asked how long it normaly takes for them to be put on the system and she said straight away.

She advised me to resend the letter and has put a note on the system to say to expect a letter.

Am i being ignored or do you think it may actually have gone astray in their building somewhere?

when i resend the letter should i put in a covering letter saying that this is the second time i have sent it?

And finally !! I hand wrote my envelope last time and then found a prepaid one sent by them in with my rejection. should i use the prepaid and not bother paying for recorded delivery?

    Thanks
    Helen

    Hi Helen

I would re-send again, but still use their pre-paid envelope, where you can still use recorded delivery, it will just cost less than the full price because of the pre paid envelope.

Did you post the last letter by recorded delivery?
If so send them a "copy" of the track and trace envelope, then go on to say even though you are again sending a further letter, you also enclose proof of the one they received earlier where they confirmed they did not receive it, and then ask if they can go by the date on the date its shown on track and trace post office receipt, as its not fair that they should hold this back because of them stating they have not received it, and yet they did.

Good luck, keep at them xx;)

UPDATE: A couple of weeks ago I posted that I had received an estimated refund from Barclays of £5633.47, today I have received another offer from Barclays for £6064.32 although the letter accompanying this offer says it is still an estimate I assume this is my final offer as there is an acceptance form & recalculated loan payments for the remainder of my loan (-PPI payments) included with this offer. Both acceptance & recalculated loan agreement have been immediately signed and will be posted back to them this afternoon, worryingly though the letter does say (again) that it could take them up to 40 working days for someone to contact me concerning my redress, does this mean another long wait for the payment to go into my account? Or is this 40 working days from when my original offer letter was sent out to me (1st September) ..... Confused? Not half as much as I am lol ... why can't banks be more clearer about their actions?

After reading your email I have written to Barclays asking for clarification and sent a copy of my letter to the FOS. I don't think it's right that they can continue to stall on making payments. I have had exactly the same letter and there seems to be no end in sight. The figure is an estimate, someone else will contact me, 40 working days, then another 40 working days, another estimate.........:mad:

What a load of old twaddle!!!!!!!!!.
Send them again, this time use the envelope they sent you,i would give it a few more days personally,if they recieved it 14th september it is only 14 days tomorrow,it could be that it is in the process of being put on the computer
(David Walliams has this to a tee! "computer says no" )

If this has been signed for,it may not go to the depatment it is intended for for a few days,in hindsight it would have been better to have sent it back in the prepaid envelope, this would have gone straight to the dept it was intended for.

Telephone on thursday and if they have not recieved this, ask why it was signed for and could they find out by whom, tell them this is not good enough and complain to them about this, tell them your claim will start from the date of the recorded letter being recieved and you excpect your claim to be dealt with in the time allotted by FOS.

if you have to send this again get it ready to post on thursday.

But on the otherhand :D:D:D:D they want to delay paying you out, they know this is a done deal and will hang on for grim death :rotfl:

    Hi Anne

Have you tried emailing the CEO of the business as well?

I have been suggesting local MP's to write on your behalf as well to many in the same situation, don't know if it will help, but maybe worth a try if not getting anywhere with them, good luck. x;)

  • Evening all you beautiful people

My hubby just gave me an agreement for car finance about 3 years go and it says something about optional ppi (gold) which we took out at the time of buying the car. Its for about £600. I certainly dont remember being given information about it and I was actually there when he bought the car. It was with Black Horse. Is there any point in trying to reclaim it. I think it was a one off payment from the paperwork and does anyone have a Black Horse address. Do I just send it to LTSB.

    Thanking you muchly.
