Hi I'm new to the forum and currently in the process of claiming back ppi on a loan of £16600 (plus £5421.10 ppi plus premiums??)from LLoyds started 5 and half years ago. I was told at the time of taking out the loan I had to take the ppi or the loan would not be approved. I have recieved the acknowledgment letter and rang today as I am haviing trouble cancelling the ppi (Have been diverted to different departments 15 times!!) I eventually spoke to a girl who said they would be happy to rebate the remainder of my ppi (£1600) off my balance and if they agreed I was due the remainder of the ppi which I have already paid they would deduct this from my balance also (£3700).This would not reduce my monthly payments nor would I get a cheque back but it would reduce the loan term. My queries are:
    1. What is the premium for?
    2. If I cancel the PPI and accept the £1600 rebate will it scupper my chances of recleaiming the rest?
    3. No metion has been made of any interest and I have paid the extra out for the past 5 and half years so should it not come back to me for me to decide what to do with it
Any advice would be much appreciated.

    Hi there

The Premium is that of the cover added in with the loan.

To what I know of you can still complain about the remainder of the amount.

I would ask them to send you a full breakdown of this of the calculations and ask them if interest is included, as you want this for your records.

However hun please wait to see what others say about this matter, just to be sure.;)

Good luck with this, but if you have a reason to complain I would do that.

    Hi there

If you google this in, hopefully they should come up, or you may find a list of them on the FSA website, if I find them all I shall post them for you.;)

Thnks for info - I have rang them to ask for written confirmation of the figures and they have said they cannot send this out in writing? Also they have told me any rebate will be taken off the loan amount ( i would much prefer a cheque) we really are at the mercy of our banks aren't we.

    Hi Di, it's me again!
I have a few store cards with GE money ( just relaised on the fsa website they have been fined for mis-selling ppi's), although i claimed a couple of years ago because i was off work through illness, can i still claim off them for mis-selling? although they were paying some in every month i still had to pay the minimum monthly amount

    Hi hun

Wonder why they cannot provide you with the figures in writing ?
Strange that, its your money and you should have every right to know what is what, in case anything is amiss with them.

Its good to know they are doing this, but I would rather have the figures to work on just to make sure your not done.....you could contact the information commissioners office to see if they will be able to confirm this to you, tell them they will not provide them, and see if they can help, they may even contact them for you.;)

Yes I would rather have the payment paid directly to me as well hun.
I assumed this would be your choice if your not in arrears by missing any payments.

    Keep us posted, thanks hunni.

    Good luck hun.;) XX

    Hi hun

    Hope your well.:A

Some say yes and some say no if you've made a claim, yet lately I have been coming across posts that say you may still have a case of being mis sold this, even when making a claim.

Petermb had posted on this matter earlier, maybe he will post up again later, or pm Peter, and he maybe able to give you some useful info on this.
Think it was this thread he posted on earlier.;)
