    Hi EllBee.
Am sure you will be successful with the Ombudsman;)

You are quite right to not accept any good will gestures. They usually get you to sign a form saying in full and final as well so that if you accept you cannot then do anything further against them.

Perhaps write to them once more saying that you are not happy with their offer and to make a better offer. Give them 2 weeks then take them to FOS after that. It may be quicker that way. FOS 12-15 months so I understand at the moment. Good Luck

Thanks for your reply. There is a form with the letter stating 'full and final settlement' and I've got 6 months to make my mind up. I think I will write to them again in the hope of a better offer.

The big one I'm waiting for at the moment (Loans.co.uk) has been with the FOS for 15 months now, hopefully to be dealt with in the very near future!! I live in hope!

Hi guys! Hope you can help me?

Monument sent a letter offering a refund of £1200, I wrote back special delivery on 17th February to accept.

OH received two letters at MUM's HOUSE  one from Monument to say debt been sold on to Lovell's on 27th February and one from Lovell's to say we now own the debt. Thing is the debt stands pre-refund amount

So what do I do now? Apart from don balaclava and rope and storm into Monument Head Office :rotfl:

I'm sorry if I am in the wrong section :o Has this happened to others claiming back ppi? The creditor passes the debt on before paying out?

    Thanks

    Rachel

ps we did have the 2 cheques from Halifax today :T

    Hiya hunni

Great news on your refund, well done :T  :T .

I agree with what amersall have posted, good luck hun.:A ;) X

I do hope I get a good outcome. I'm still waiting to hear but will keep you updated!

As for the NatWest one I haven't asked them about increasing the amount. It never occurred to me, I just thought I'd go straight to the FOS now. RBS did send me all the info regarding the FOS so I assumed that would be the end of negotiations with them!

I have a cold and am feeling grumpy and pessimistic now!

    Hope you're well Di.

    Hiya hun

Sorry to hear your not feeling well, hope you get better real soon, and getting there thanks hun.:A ;) X

I'm sure the FOS will resolve this for you.;) X

Wow 6 months is very generous of them......:T this gives you that chance to deal with this one then, great :D;) X

Hope you hear very soon of the one within the FOS hun. Fingers crossed.

Aha---preumably instead of merely depositing the Cash Advance Loan into your account--they (for their accounting purposes) deposited the Cash Advance Loan+PPI Loan SPI and then took out the PPI Loan Amount.

    That would be still correct.

Yes-The PPI SPI is to pay Brokers Commission/Lenders Commission/my Uncle Tom Cobbley's commission/ and the residue to the actual insurer-lol

    Hi Turboman/Maxdp

I've re-checked my bank statement and only the loan amount was deposited into my account not the loan + PPI on all of the loans I've had, so I think I've been had twice or am I missing something????

    Totally confused:confused:

Hi I was wondering if anyone can help.I received a letter today from Captial one about reclaiming my ppi on a credit card I payed off in April 2007. They are stating that my ppi was sold correctly and they would give me £50.49. The total amount on card that was paid off was £1211.74.Is this about right or should I continue to try and claim more?Thank you for your help.

Hi Knitjob, i have just successfully claimed all of my PPi from cap one, they did the same with me and only offered me pennies instead of hundreds, i refused and they sent another letter again offering me pennies, i finally wrote stating this was my final letter or i would be going to the FO, they replied with the offer of 50% and i again refused asking for 100%, within 2 weeks they final caved in and i got it all back and on two accounts. Dont give in keep going and dont let them bully you, if it wasnt for all the lovely people helping me on here it can seem like the easiest thing to do, but keep going you have nothing to loose. Good luck Sarah.

Aha--yours is different to the norm--usually the first payment is 1 month after agreement--yours was 3 months --I will look again at 9:00 tomorrow-but (I think )everything now is likely to balance ok
