    On going with Wallis/Santander
Santander turned me down went to FLA and still no joy so now of to the onbudsman-this is my mission in life now to get back what is owed to me and i couldnt do it without all your help thank you everyone.

  • Hi all
Sorry its me again I told you this was now my life's mission to get the money owed to me- i woke up last night and remembered I had a top shop card in 1990s to approx 2005.

This was one of 5 store cards (House of Fraser-store card, house of fraser MasterCard, debenhams, wallis, evans) I had with santander, 2 had ppi,(house of fraser mastercard was paid out within 7 days and one claim for wallis, knocked back so been to FLA and now onto ombudsman) Debenhams evans and other house of fraser didn't have ppi and as I paid off my top shop card I destroyed all the paperwork so my question is it it worth doing a SAR with Santander.

Any advice gratefully received as always

    Hi
I sent of a SAR to yorkshire bank on sat and received a reply today from clydesdale bank, which i don't understand because they have only enclosed the loan that i have at the moment without anything else. I have been a yorkshire bank customer at the same branch for the last 26years. Do i have to pay again for the credit card sar? Surely they have all my old loan info and unfortunately i didn't have ppi on this loan but knew i had it on previous loans as I was a single parent and they wouldn't give me the loan without it-but i don't have the account numbers, they aren't on experian and although i have my bank statements as payments no account number is quoted. Do i give up or has anyone got any suggestions?

we refer to your letter dated 20th aug in relation to data protection act 1998 and enclose the relevant information.
please note due to the passage of time since closure paperwork relating to previous loans have been destroyed. If you require any information regarding your credit card then please supply the number.

    Hi there

Did you enclose the account numbers of the other loan accounts?
If not I would write back and tell them you are aware that the SAR should cover for all accounts you had taken out with them, but you have only just received details of the one.
Did you use the Full SAR as below?
    https://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/discussion/1475553

If not then resend, with a side letter and tell them you have paid the proper amount for all your data and they should then comply and send all in relation of the SAR enclosed, then tell them if they are unable to send anything further then you would like a full explanation in writing. (So you send no further payment).

However, just to also say that they should send data going back to at least the last 6 years, some will hold data going back even earlier if they still have them, and they must comply by the data protection act.

Any problems, then contact the Information Commissioners Office (ICO).
    http://www.ico.gov.uk/complaints/data_protection.aspx

Otherwise, what many do on here, if they cannnot get hold of the paperwork but does still have the account numbers, it still put in a reclaim anyway.

Hope this helps and good luck.

    Morning all,
Last week I recieved letter from Lloyds upholding claim for ppi on one credit card which I quickly filled in acceptance form and sent back recorded delivery. I claimed for 2 cards at the same time so am still waiting for one. They said in an e mail that my claims were dated 13th May. Does this mean that I have to wait 16 weeks which will be 2nd Sept or are they getting letters for May claims out by 31st August as time is running out for that one!!!
Anyone have any idea. I know its only a couple of days longer but theyve had my money long enough already lol. Also they said in the one I got last week that a further letter will come with calculations and when and how refund will be paid. Some while ago I got refund on two loans and I never got any such info although I was happy with the outcome. But I really want the calculations for these so I can check they are right. Anyone have any experience of this.

    Hiya
If you put in the complaints in at the same time, I assumed they would be dealt with within the same timescale, unless they have further calculations for work out for this one, you could ring them to ask, or just sit it out a little longer and see what happens.

I would also at the same time ask them to post you a written detailed breakdown, it seems banks differ in how they deal with these things, but ask anyway, hopefully they will send them in the post for you, good luck.;)

    Hi Lisa

Yes ask them to return your payment, if they're unable to provide you with anything then its your money and you should get this back.

Drat! so sorry to hear they have no details on this or the account number, I do hope one day soon you'll find some further details around your house on this.

If the FOS are also unable to help, they may suggest the underwriter avenue as they have done with many, as there have been lots in the same position and its another way of trying to get your money back to you. Good luck hon and stay strong now x:)

    Thanks Di
I did use the template but only included my current account number, which is the one i use if i need to access my saving account, isa, my credit card as they are all linked. I knew i didnt have ppi on the loan info sent but i did have ppi on a previous loan as they made me have it before theyd grant the loan-but i dont have any account number. I will write back and see if I get any joy

I have tried Sars wiyth other companies i have had loans or credit cards with including RBS who have declined me the info as i don't have the account number. About 5 years ago i had a massive sort out and burnt all my old paperwork- i could kick myself now lol

Fingers crossed i get better response from barclays and Halifax again sent SAR without account numbers

Thanks again for your helpful advice

Thanks for that Cappo, also got the same thing with HSBC,Have sent my £10 back and said they have nothing on me ,yet i had account and credit card, account for good 35 years,i only closed it in 2002,and they say nothing on me,rang experian they said they can onky go back 6 years,so no luck there either i'm afraid,i think i have thousands in mis sold ppi's,but cannot get my hands on the account numbers now, have even gone through lost bank account numbers on the computer, which can take up to 3 months.

Hi trish i would call hsbc and tell them (in a nice way) that if they do not comply you will contact the fsa and ico as you know they have the info, don't be confrontational but be firm and stick to your guns or if you really have no luck and nowhere else to go speak to a cmc who will be able to initiate court proceedings if neccesary but only do this as a last resort as we don't normally advocate cmc's on here but hey if you've got nothing to lose. good luck

Hi lisa don't know if our treasure Di or our shining amersall amongst others have addressed this but my spin on it is this, pursue the bank, email the ceo and badger them, as the marksman said in a previous post there probably looking at your account numbers right now as they tell you they don't have them, i've chased LTSB for the last 4 months to get my credit card account numbers and they've led me a song and dance, i've now sarred them after threatening to contact the fsa and ico and emailing ceo several times,it's a game now with the banks trying to limit there exposure to misell so the more people they put off,the less they payout. again i'm afraid to have to say as i said to trish if you really can't get the co-operation of the bank consider a (good) cmc who will work for you on a no win no fee basis and if they get no joy will not charge you, sorry guys i'm not having a change of heart but some of these guys will lose out with no-one able to shift the banks and it's better to have 75% of a claim then nothing at all, where do you go with the banks when they get stubborn to the point of doing nothing. steve (my sources say anything upto a 3 year wait now for fos)
