Just noticed that i have been paying a ppi on my debenhams card. Ive wrote a letter explaing that i have been mis-sold ppi because when i applied in store the assistant told me to tick the box for a price protection guarantee. She led me to believe that if i purchased any item on my card and it when was reduced in the sale i could claim the difference back. I have explained this in my letter to them. What do you think my chances are of claiming back the ppi amounts that i have paid? I just dont see many debenhams posts that have had their claims upheld.
Iam still fighting with Santander to get a SAR as i had Dorothy Perkins card and Debenhams, had DPerkins account number ad they stated i did not have PPI bu i'm pretty sure i did,i knw for a fact it was put on my Debenhams card and yet they are Saying they have no record of me,i also had a time retail finance store card for Comet,so this is my third letter in with then and they eep asking for account numbers, even though i have sent in £10 cheque.0 -

Hi trish don't get worn down by them, LTSB are doing exactly the same with me, they would'nt give me account numbers for credit cards knowing full well i had ppi on them despite telling me i did'nt, i've sarred them and after a lot of B***+++++ about they've finally given in, whether the info will be in there i don't know but at least if you can get the sar and they don't give you all the info you can report them to the ico.0 -

Thanks for that Cappo, also got the same thing with HSBC,Have sent my £10 back and said they have nothing on me ,yet i had account and credit card, account for good 35 years,i only closed it in 2002,and they say nothing on me,rang experian they said they can onky go back 6 years,so no luck there either i'm afraid,i think i have thousands in mis sold ppi's,but cannot get my hands on the account numbers now, have even gone through lost bank account numbers on the computer, which can take up to 3 months.0 -

Both my daughter and i have just put claims in against Debenhams/Santander. We both took the cards out around the same time. I think it was a christmas shopping event. My daughter has her original agreement and the PPi box is clearly prefilled in and underneath it says sign if you wish to add this to your account and the signature box is filled in with a solid black line so i know we didnt agree to this. But the store assistant who filled in our applications explained in great detail that account cover will be added to our account and this was to cover purchases i.e if you purchase anything and it then was reduced within 60 days you could claim the difference back. Not once did she explain it was ppi. It's only after the recent high lights in the media did we further look into it.
Good luck with your case0 -
Hi
I sent of a SAR to yorkshire bank on sat and received a reply today from clydesdale bank, which i don't understand because they have only enclosed the loan that i have at the moment without anything else. I have been a yorkshire bank customer at the same branch for the last 26years. Do i have to pay again for the credit card sar? Surely they have all my old loan info and unfortunately i didn't have ppi on this loan but knew i had it on previous loans as I was a single parent and they wouldn't give me the loan without it-but i don't have the account numbers, they aren't on experian and although i have my bank statements as payments no account number is quoted. Do i give up or has anyone got any suggestions?
we refer to your letter dated 20th aug in relation to data protection act 1998 and enclose the relevant information.
please note due to the passage of time since closure paperwork relating to previous loans have been destroyed. If you require any information regarding your credit card then please supply the number.0 -

Morning all,
Last week I recieved letter from Lloyds upholding claim for ppi on one credit card which I quickly filled in acceptance form and sent back recorded delivery. I claimed for 2 cards at the same time so am still waiting for one. They said in an e mail that my claims were dated 13th May. Does this mean that I have to wait 16 weeks which will be 2nd Sept or are they getting letters for May claims out by 31st August as time is running out for that one!!!
Anyone have any idea. I know its only a couple of days longer but theyve had my money long enough already lol. Also they said in the one I got last week that a further letter will come with calculations and when and how refund will be paid. Some while ago I got refund on two loans and I never got any such info although I was happy with the outcome. But I really want the calculations for these so I can check they are right. Anyone have any experience of this.0
