... and the loan is 5 years old in November of next year so 2007

the previous loan would have been around 2003 and was consolidated into the existing loan !
Hi there, Smitchy explained the 1st sept to you :D hang on till then and you will save a month (well....3 weeks from next week) of waiting.

They will look at the ppi from the 1st loan,as the ppi from that one will have been added onto the 2nd less the very small rebate they gave you.
Wanted the year because if it was prior to 2004 then they would have passed you over to the insurer,as the 03 loan ppi was put onto the second loan, they have to deal with both ppi.

Just an after thought, you can claim the cashback in november, would you consider claiming the cash back and putting in the mis sell after you have had this back?,unless you have had arrears you will get this back, but after cashback, the ppi is still on the loan to term end with interest !!!! this will equate to thousands more that you will pay in interest,so bear this in mind.

You can still claim the cashback and then go mis sell, when you win this the whole ppi amount will come off your loan balance, your monthly payment will reduce by the monthly ppi amount(and when FP put the interest rate up AGAIN as it is "prudent for their business") you will have the safety net for a while of the reduced ppi payment,
and you will have saved all that extra interest, after cashback if you win mis sell you may not get a lot back to you,but the bonus for you is what i just said.

  • durrrrr originally posted in wrong thread... have been flicking between discussion and successes/failures...... in right place now tho i hope......

Have followed the thread for a while, well done all who have successfully claimed  and for those who help and give advice its sooooo appreciated xxxx

Yesterday I called Santander re a Cahoot flexible loan (still ongoing grrr ) loan was transferred to Santander 2009/10 . I have held of submitting claim as had other unrelated issue ongoing with them, this has now been rectified and £100 cheque for my inconvenience received, deposited an cleared in bank yesterday lol didnt want to tempt fate by creating more issues until one resolved... the Advisor I spoke to yesterday asked what I was calling for I said would like to submit a claim for PPI on this loan, advisor said yes that wouldnt be a problem... claim submitted... would hear back within 2-3 weeks... and that was it !! bit dubious now as called again (same number) re Cahoot credit card that took out at same time was advised by diff advisor they dont accept claims over the telephone and would need to be put in writing, I have done this. I have read on here many Santander claims have been started over telephone so I guess just have to wait and see..... figures I have are a bit ropey apologies :embarasse any help re any potential claim would be much appreciated my head spinning trying to work it out.

    Loan started .. 2nd Dec 2002
amount..... £7500 flexible so could use like credit card pay in take out as required
apr at the time 12-14% raised to 21% not 100% sure when 2009/2010 i think
    min monthy payment until 9th June 2005 - £190
min payment after 9th june £151
monthly PPI £39? am presumming due to drop in monthly payment would this appear too high for 7.5k loan?
Loan paid off in full and re used numberous times up until Santander took over, upped the apr and removed the facility, account still open with balance.

    credit card .. Dec 2002
balance always around £1000 until cleared and closed in 2007
apr 11%?? this is estimate not 100% sure
min monthly payment was always around £21-£22 each month
    PPI payment ??
account paid in full and closed 2007
PPI on this account was cancelled at same time as the loan account, so assuming July 2005.
apologies for the unsure answers... both were serviced online this facility was removed when Santander took it over so no longer have any online access and all statements previously were online.

I requested cancellation of the PPI at some point as enquired re a claim when became unemployed and they advised I was not eligible as had worked on contract via an agency, this was same company I worked for on online sign up, hence my claim... at no time was I advised of any employment exclusions until went to claim... Am presuming cancelled June 2005 as there was drop in payments from that time and round about then I switched employment. incidently payment for July 2005 was £133 (-£18) August £51 (- £100) from then on £151...... £118 (£18+£100) is approx 3 x the estimated £39 payment could this have been a rebate?? will this make any diff to claim other than reduced by 3 PPI payments??

many thanks in advance to anyone who takes the time to have a look xx

Quick question for the experts here.

Just had an offer that is twice the value of my credit card outstanding balance and RBS want to put the money on it to clear the balance. how easy is it to get the extra money back or is there an alternative?
