PPI Reclaiming Discussion part 4

Hi everyone,
I sent an SAR to HSBC because I have a feeling I had PPI on 2 loans which I took out in 2004 and 2005 and since settled. They wrote back saying they dont have any documents for one of the loans anymore due to its age and have sent me just a statement for the other. They also said they can assure me I never had any PPI on either of them. I didnt ask if I had PPI on them!! Is this just a tactic to put me off? They didnt send a copy of the original agreement for the one they sent the statement for...are they hiding something?
Thanks0 -

Am becoming a bit ppi obsessed at the minute. Have been reading forums, prob far too much and my oh's ear is getting well and truly bent! He is waiting for a call from santander, as the accounts in his name, yet i've done all the research and work! Typical! I am giving him lessons in what to say and its getting comical.
Tonight he said "thats it , when this is done im gonna start a new campaign on that flamin forum. Im gonna claim of mcdonalds for misselling burgers! They are selling me stuff i don't need AND when they ask me if i wanna go large i open the box and the burger is def not any larger yet they have charged me more for it!!" so folks who is up for joining his campaign??!! :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:

Hi lainey
I hope your the right one to ask then pretty please:D.
There are loan brokers, and mortgage/loan introducers (packagers) to loans that work for lenders?
Would you now the difference in these brokers at all?
I am asking because I have a complexed case going on and trying to get to the bottom of it, its taken 3 years up to now, but getting there, so any info you have on my query will be a great help, thank you, but not to worry otherwise xx;)
i am trying to think back, as i had to sell loans/ppi to customers
then hand off the barclayloan to compelete, if it was a secureloan we used to hand off to another company, i cant remember their name,so barclays were the introducers for them, sorry not much help, not really my area, but if you send me private message, i could try and find out for you, hope it works out for you hun:)0 -

Hi Mich
You do what you feel is right for you, if the FOS have said that you can stop the complaint with them - and you can therefore start again with lloyds, then you can do so if you want to, but you will have to make lloyds aware that you have done this.
What I would do is double check with the FOS again though just to be sure.
The FOS as you know have huge amounts of backlogs, and can take some time.
So when you handed this complaint to the FOS I take it you did not actually receive a final response from lloyds but they gave you the opportunity to go this direction at the time?
I never got an answer from Lloyds, just stalling tactics.
They sent me a leaflet and a couple of letters saying they had 8 weeks and then another letter saying they had an extra 8 weeks, and then nothing. The leaflet stated that if I wanted to appeal against their final response or if I failed to get a final response then I should contact FOS.
I feel like I've been set up, like they had no intention of doing anything and letting the FOS do all the leg work. Don't they realise the longer these claims get dragged out the more interest they'll have to pay.0 -

Hiya
In this case then, maybe it would be a good idea to write back to lloyds, tell them you've pulled out of the FOS and believe that they (Lloyds) will put this right for you, and as a respectable bank :D:o (just say that) lol, and as a valued customer you will appreciate it if they will not continue to investigate your complaint with the reasons you have given.
Email here as well with the CEO details x

Good luck, please be aware though it is now 16 weeks waiting, but still less than that of being with the FOS at present. The one and only "Dizzy Di"0 -

it certainly is a tactic moneyangel i'm having this with LTSB at the moment, don't be sucked in by them i've been told that i don't have ppi on 2 credit cards, well i'm sticking to my guns,i know full well i had ppi on them and the sar should confirm it, talk to the bank advise them of there obligation to give you either copies of the originals or reconstituated agreements for your accounts or you will be contacting the ico and fsa, that should do it, i had the same with HSBC 3 years ago they knew what i wanted the paperwork for and sent me a letter to say they could'nt find the agreements, surprise surprise they've just found all my ppi accounts, keep at em.:)0 -
Same with me, been fobbed off and messed around. My claim went in to them in February and is now in it's 29 week. My letter today said they aren't dealing with my claim because I complained to FOS that they weren't investigating or responding to my claims. But now I'm left waiting for the FOS and they are saying 9 months to be allocated to a case worker.
It's got to be a stalling tactic to keep hold of the money for as long as possible. If everyone gets hacked off with being fobbed off and goes to the FOS, and they all end up taking 9+ months.
HI mich, you've hit the nail right on the head.0
