PPI Reclaiming Discussion part 4

Hi,
Firstly thanks for your reply, apprecaite it.
I did request SAR and that is when they replied saying couldn't find the documents although have given me the information you mentioned (account number, sort code, value, start and expiry date plus the amount of PPI per loan)
I have rang and complianed saying I was unaware of having PPI and wouldn't have agreed to it if knew.
With them not being able to find the documents surely they can't prove I agreed to it?
One last point, loan 1 was Jan 2003 - April 2003, loan 2 April 2003 - Jan 2004 and loan 3 Jan 2004 - Feb 2007. Can I claim these as sure read somewhere has to be within 6 years?
Thanks,
Daniel
Hi Daniel
Sorry, missed your post here.
I would write back about this then, and question them on why they have those details but not the other, and if they have no paperwork, ask if they can consider a reasonable offer anyway if this is the case.
Yes do go for the other ones, many have been successful in making reclaims as from the 90's accounts and even earlier, let them know you've only recently became aware of the PPI mis selling, good luck.:)The one and only "Dizzy Di"0 -
Hi Guys first ever post,
Ive got a loan ive had since 2003 that i pay PPI on, im thinking of getting one of the companies you see advertised to try and reclaim some money, has anyone got any names of companies that people have recommended because there seems to be thousands.
Many Thanks
Jason.c
Hi Jason
Personally, we do not suggest using claims companies, and its less hassle doing this yourself with just a matter of having your reasons of being mis sold, the account number and completing the reclaim questionnaire, and claims companies will end up charging you, where if you do this yourself and succeed you will get to keep your refund, plus interest.
Its only a matter of completing the questionnaire on step 3 below, send to whoever sold you the policy - complaints dept or head office, keep copies for yourself, they normally have 8 weeks, but may ask for more time if needed, some banks are given more time by the FSA due to backlogs.
Hope this helps and good luck.

Damm, damm, damm.... got a letter from Lloyds this afternoon. The email address for Lloyds really works.
Basically because I passed the claim over to the FOS, Lloyds aren't going to deal with it in any way shape or form and leave it to FOS. They will leave my case as outstanding until FOS get back to them.
Spoke to FOS. My case has been in a pile for the last 2 months and not allocated to anyone, which could take up to 9 months. I asked if I could retract my complaint and have it sent back to Lloyds to deal with, they said I could do that if I wanted.
Anyone got any suggestions on what to do next ?? was expecting to have this sorted by the end of the month as per the information on the Lloyds website.
Hi Mich
You do what you feel is right for you, if the FOS have said that you can stop the complaint with them - and you can therefore start again with lloyds, then you can do so if you want to, but you will have to make lloyds aware that you have done this.
What I would do is double check with the FOS again though just to be sure.
The FOS as you know have huge amounts of backlogs, and can take some time.
So when you handed this complaint to the FOS I take it you did not actually receive a final response from lloyds but they gave you the opportunity to go this direction at the time? The one and only "Dizzy Di"0 -
i rang LLoyds tsb earlier waiting good 15 mins on the phone foe a reply, eventually a quite pleasant guy answered my call and said my case is still being investigated,i said even though it is 14 weeks now,is it a case you are stacking them all up till the sixteeenth week and then sending out,he said they were still working on the backlog, this bank is absolutely disgusting the way they are treating peeps, apart from saying being still investigated, they are like the secret service, will not let on anything,i am really fed up with them, and know when they have settle my ppi claim (i was self employed and always had a pre-existing illness)i am moving on from this bank, they are a pain in the ***e.
Anyone had any response from Lloyds from around about the same time as my complaint went in 6th may, other than we are looking at your complain letter ??Any settlements yet from around this logging time.
Congrats to everyone who has heard today, some great amounts claimed on the forum.
Bad luck Trish22. Frustrating, isn't it? Hope you get some good news soon. x0 -
Hi All,
I'm really intrigued by this and want to see if the other regulars agree on this
The current extension by the FSA gives 16 weeks for the bank to give a final response, but as from 1st September this changes to 12 weeks
So, should we just be telling everyone considering a claim to hang fire until 1st September (send cclaim recorded on 31st August for instance), that way their 12 week deadline is reached on 24th November, rather than (for instance) sending today and the 16 weeks being reached December 5th?
Hiya
Well I must admit, I didn't even know that :o, how come I missed this lol?
Well with it not being long for Sept to come that is actually a good idea tifosi.:);)The one and only "Dizzy Di"0 -
Dont forget peeps, sales advisors were paid commission on every ppi sale, i know because i was one of them:o
Hi lainey
I hope your the right one to ask then pretty please:D.
There are loan brokers, and mortgage/loan introducers (packagers) to loans that work for lenders?
Would you now the difference in these brokers at all?
I am asking because I have a complexed case going on and trying to get to the bottom of it, its taken 3 years up to now, but getting there, so any info you have on my query will be a great help, thank you, but not to worry otherwise xx;)The one and only "Dizzy Di"0 -
Hi folks, thought id share this one with you to help ease the dreaded wait for news from banks!
Am becoming a bit ppi obsessed at the minute. Have been reading forums, prob far too much and my oh's ear is getting well and truly bent! He is waiting for a call from santander, as the accounts in his name, yet i've done all the research and work! Typical! I am giving him lessons in what to say and its getting comical.
Tonight he said "thats it , when this is done im gonna start a new campaign on that flamin forum. Im gonna claim of mcdonalds for misselling burgers! They are selling me stuff i don't need AND when they ask me if i wanna go large i open the box and the burger is def not any larger yet they have charged me more for it!!" so folks who is up for joining his campaign??!! :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:
Good luck to everyone who like us are waiting to hear news!!Mary B0 -
