What does the 8% work out on that then? :p:p

It depends, when will I receive the money ;)

    It would be calculated daily.

But if it were an entire year, you would receive £1.62 (so £0.12 interest).

Actually I'd like to withdraw my offer as that will eat into my funds too much :rotfl:

    Hiya

Hopefully it means good news, so fingers crossed, but there is no harm in also emailing the CEO as well if you feel you're not getting anywhere, good luck. ;)

Thank you Di. I thought a polite but firm email wouldn't hurt so I sent it and 2 hours later I had an email from Matthew Brandrick, a Case Manager in the complaints dept, who said he has been asked to handle the case and will get back to me within 7 working days but that I can contact him if I need an update before then.
    I will keep you updated.

    Hi

Ok, no upheld letter today but I emailed the bank over a week ago with no reply so sent a chase email on Thursday night, just got a reply to say cases are being dealt with in date order (which can't be true due to some success that have been posted recently). Anyway it also says my case is currently being assessed.

How do I take this response. Good or bad??

    Anyone got any thoughts.

    Thank you. :)

Hi there, you need to get FOS to clarify why they only say that the bank should pay so little compensation for topped up loans, especially as your dad was unemployed when one was given!.

Tell them you are not happy with this and you want to escelate this to the ombudsman for another opinion.

Add more info if you have it to strengthen the case, basically what you put here.

Thanks for such quick responses - Sorry I don't understand if its the FOS that are saying he should accept the offer isn't that the ombudsman? Or do you mean just tell them you are not happy and see if they give you any more advice. What happens if they side with the bank? Where can they go next?

    Thanks again.
