    Hi
Only posted my complaints on Saturday and have received a response today, both refusals although both say that they have done an investigation all of 3 days including return postage time

Santander-wallis account say that my original complaint from 17th Nov 2001 to 16th sept 2004 was creation services so i must complain to them. Is this correct?

    it goes on to say
When my account was assigned to Santander Cards on 16/09/2004, my existing insurance policy was upgraded to an insurance provided by us. The policy was called account cover and comprises of price, purchase and payment protection. At this time you had an opportunity to change your mind as a policy summery and policy document was mailed to you for review. We offer a 30 day no-quibble money guarantee where the product could be cancelled and any premiums refunded(subject to no claim being made). This allows time to compare the policy of that to other insurance companies.

Since your account was assigned to Santander cards Ltd (formally GE Money) this insurance has been clearly shown on statements when a balance has been outstanding, and a claim could have been made at any point.

in light of comments set out in my letter, i can not find any evidence of miss selling of this insurance by santander cards UK Ltd. i am therefore unable to refund any payments applied to your account.
this is our final response. we have reached the end of our complaint handling procedures. if you are dissatisfied with our reponse you may refer your complaint to financing and leasing association.

It you require any further information, please contact me on 0871 522 5167 calls cost 10p per minute. any correspondence relating to your complaint can be sent to santander cards po box 700 Leeds ls99 2bd.

Firstly I was mis sold I have been a local government officer since 1993 so no need to have this cover, I have had periods of sickness but as I receive 6 months full pay and 6 months half pay I have never made a claim.
I never received the policy that they say they sent me and they upgraded my cover in their own words
I did see ppi on my account and tried to have the premium removed about 3 months ago by phone but was told I had to write in to remove it, which I did last month, but before then never realised what it was or that I could have it removed.
So do I write to financing and leasing association.
and does people think I have a claim?

Is it worth also putting in a claim to Creation cards for the period 17th Nov 2001 to 16th sept 2004?
Please help im new to this and would welcome any advice, also do I include the original template I sent in when writing on financing and leasing association or change it as I have two seperate claims now or keep it as one claim.

    Thanks in advance
    Lisa

Can anyone give me any advice please re the above letter
    Thanks
    Lisa

Hi there, Dunstonh or Magpie cottage are better placed to help you with this, hopefully they will come on and guide you.
Mortgage ppi is different to loan ppi,and some mortgage ppi is not mis sold.
Thank you for your reply, I have added an edit to my origional post.
The common law of business balance prohibits paying a little and getting a lot. If you deal with the lowest bidder, it is well to add something for the risk you run, and if you do that you will have enough to pay for something better.

  • Hi all,
I took out a loan nearly six years ago with egg finance, at the time I remember being lead to believe that I would not be accepted if i didn't take out PPI. At this time in my life I wasnt the most carefull with my finances and later missed payments and defaulted on the loan. I was then contacted just over a year ago my a debt recovery agency, to whom i payed the remaining amout of the loan. Do i have any case with regard to claiming PPI back?

    Thank you

Yes you do with the reasons you have given, send this to FLA.

You need to do this as 2 seperate claims, but copy the original template twice,i take this they are 2 different cards?.

    Hi everyone,
Sorry for not reading through the entire thread to see if my question has already been asked/answered but I took out a £110,000 mortgage with Sainsburys about 10 years ago. Because of personal circumstances I needed a 100 percent l interest only loan. I was told that I could have the mortgage but I would have to pay £3,500 to be added to the loan as an insurance in case I defaulted (they said that this only applied to 100 percent loans). I did all of this over the phone and through letters. Would this count as a PPI or is it something entirely different.
    Edit:
I have just spoken to Sainsburys and they say it was not an insurance but a "loan to value access fee". When I asked him what that was he said "it is to cover us in case you default because of the risk of giving you a 100 percent mortgage"
Sounds like an insurance policy to me.

Sorry its not ppi it is an insurance where they can recover the excess loan over a certain ltv if you default and reposessed. These were common place when taking out mortgages with a high loan to value mortgage
