:hello:
It was with Halifax.
We started the process in October 2010, but with all the court cases it took a bit longer.
Received the letter advising that they were processing our claim last week. :money:
New loan documents came in yesterday, sent them back and then got letter today stating that they would be paying the full compenstaion back to us.
They didn't say how long it would take - was on my on-line banking account and the money had been paid in today !!! :j:j:j0 -

I got my "four weeks" letter last week and wanted to know how things were going. I called them up under the pretense of finding out the APR on my loans. Helpful guy went away for a few minutes, came back and told me my complaint was being upheld but couldn't tell me how much and gave me the APR too (I'll post on the success thread when I have some figures).:beer:0 -
Just alos spoke to MBNA/Abbey re my two claims with them and got the usual story of backlog, but apparently up to date with this. Looking into claims and hoping to get all these resolved by end of August, can't give me any more information than that, note: could even be resolved in the next couple of days, week/s.
Number to call is: 0800 917 6592 - Customer Advocate Complaint Office.
Thanks and good luck, will keep you all informed as and when this is settled.

Hi everyone,
Sorry for not reading through the entire thread to see if my question has already been asked/answered but I took out a £110,000 mortgage with Sainsburys about 10 years ago. Because of personal circumstances I needed a 100 percent l interest only loan. I was told that I could have the mortgage but I would have to pay £3,500 to be added to the loan as an insurance in case I defaulted (they said that this only applied to 100 percent loans). I did all of this over the phone and through letters. Would this count as a PPI or is it something entirely different.
Edit:
I have just spoken to Sainsburys and they say it was not an insurance but a "loan to value access fee". When I asked him what that was he said "it is to cover us in case you default because of the risk of giving you a 100 percent mortgage"
Sounds like an insurance policy to me.The common law of business balance prohibits paying a little and getting a lot. If you deal with the lowest bidder, it is well to add something for the risk you run, and if you do that you will have enough to pay for something better.0 -
Hi there, Dunstonh or Magpie cottage are better placed to help you with this, hopefully they will come on and guide you.
Mortgage ppi is different to loan ppi,and some mortgage ppi is not mis sold.0 -
HI,
hey guys i wonder if you can help me i absolutely love this site for the invaluable advise i get.
I want to claim back ppi ...Details are i took out a woolwich loan(now barclays) in 2003 for £13000 for 60 months which i found out later included PPI .i decided to settle a year early and the settlement i paid included the PPI .
Also took out an mbna loan for £15000 was sold the damn PPI and the person dealing with my loan gave me the impression i will not get the loan if i didn't take the PPI.. absolute ripoff merchants..i stopped paying PPI 3 years into the loan... what do i do now to claim all my money back?
In the case of woolwich its been taken over by barclays who do i write to? thanks0
