I thought you would be able to claim back 'actual ppi' that was included with your car insurance.
Although to be honest, it is normally 'Accident and Sickness cover' which is a legitimate type of cover that people can actually claim on, and therefore no reclaims.I'm a secret crime fighter

All I have to say regarding that is that I'm 27, and was younger when I first had a credit card/loan, etc. And frankly I was inexperienced and unsure of what a lot of things banks, credit card companies, etc said to me. I think the one thing that sticks in my mind is the mention of being covered for if I was sick for any reason from work and needing to have the loan/credit card covered, which I prob agreed to as I know I would stress out about that if indeed I was to be off sick for any reason. Though 12 years on from starting my first job - i've never had a day off sick.......touch wood.
In most cases cyan the lenders pushed these policies very very hard, thats why so many people have them.0 -
You will get the monthly premiums you have paid to the cost of the ppi plus 8 % £2342.47
They will take off £1543.92 off the loan (credit the account) plus any interest at the apr on your loan. This will reduce the amount owing as if the account for ppi hadnt existed and the last 12 months will see your repayments reduce by the cost of the monthly ppi contribution
Enjoy the holiday

Sorry if I'm being thick, so does that mean I'll be refunded the difference between the 2 figures or the loan will be reduced by the 1st figure and I'll be refunded the 2nd figure?
This ppi lark is a bit confusing0 -
You could be right, but i dont know of a car insurance, other than GAP that would have or is like ppi?.I thought you would be able to claim back 'actual ppi' that was included with your car insurance.

GAP insurance is a good thing as they pay the total value of your car if it is written off in an accident and not just what the car is worth at todays value, having said that though, you may not want to pay car insurance and GAP,so maybe that is a mis sell?.0 -

I have never heard of a mis sell for GAP insurance as it provides an actual benefit.
ASU or Accident and sickness cover is often added to car insurance and is relatively cheap for the level of cover it provides. I do not think you can claim for this at all as mis sell.
People often refer to PPI on car insurance, but I would be willing to bet they have ASU cover.
PPI is very expensive based on the level of benefit it provides and therefore deemed unlawful in most cases.I'm a secret crime fighter

How do,
Hope all are well.
Just rang RBS (again) for update of when I will recieve my missold PPI as the 28 days are up.
I was told initially told "Friday" then he double checked and said "Sorry it will be a couple of more weeks yet....."
Have said this is not good enough, and asked what would happen if I went overdrawn and said "Sorry it will be a couple of more weeks yet....." I would be fined, fined and fined again, charged interest had credit destroyed and probably taken to the tower of london!
Again, he was deeply apologetic and said that they were behind and said he would get someone from PPI money to call me today. - Don't hold out too much hope.
Have a built up a dossier of lies and misinformation on RBS and will send as a separate complaint. Have e-mails that contradict each other and to be fair have had enough of them. I know it should be a period of celebration etc but it is so frustrating trying to get them to finally hand over what is rightfully mine!
Has anyone else had this same level of uselessness from RBS!
