Why does it feel like you are banging your head against a brick wall? Opus - now want until 31st August for a response. Initial complaint January 2011. Barclays - no quibble refund, but not a word heard. RBS agreed refund, sent acceptance 10th June 2011 - now say want 28 working days.
They are certainly quick enough to take our money. Snails pace refunding it!
Opus are part of RBS so they're covered by the ruling to end of August, by the way, is only 5 weeks ago, this site is going to get VERY busy in the run up to it!:j
Thanks to all the competition posters.

Its typical of a system that will ruin your credit rating because of a few late payments and threaten you with court action and debt collectors but then do as they please to you and i with money they took by fraudulent means

i agree with you, they (the banks) would never tolerate this nonsense from us that we're having to put up with from them on a daily basis, it's a shocking system that allows this sort of thing to happen, as you say they took the money quick enough. As i mentioned to LTSB 's ceo tonight it's fraud whatever way you dress it up, beamer is right we have been wronged and continue to be wronged on a daily basis.

im having to claim through the fscs as my loan company is in default - i put an initial enquiry in on 27th june and as yet am still waiting to hear ANYTHING back - all i want is an application form from them!!!! exactly how hard can it be to get things done in a reasonable amount of time??????????? ringing them up twice a week hasn't got me any further than to find out there's a bit of a backlog in looking at the initial enquiries. how am i going to cope if it takes months lol? ;)

URGENT HELP NEEDED!! I copied the letters from this website to ask for information of the terms and conditions and any insurance added to my post office credit card account. I worded the letter exactley as stated in the letter template on this website as I simply copied and pasted it and filled in the blanks into a word document.

I recieved a massive pile of statements in return of my request rather than the terms and conditions. I have just now recieved this months credit card statement and they have charged me £275 for the copy statements!!!! Can they do this?!?!?! I expected the possibility of being charge around £10 for the information, infact in the advise on this website it said they may charge £1 but not this!!! No warning that they may charge this amount. They didn't even write to me to state what the charge would be. I am extremely distressed and upset!!

calm down jeni they can charge you £1 for cca and £10 sar they should'nt charge more than this contact the bank or institution concerned advise them of these maximum charges and tell them you will be contacting the fsa/ico if they do not refund you the excess charge, they are just trying it on.

    Hi
I phoned Egg for PPI reference numbers for an old loan + credit card I had back in 2006. The operator on the phone said she would send my details to the complaints department and they will be in touch to get more details.

I haven't been contacted yet but I'm now worrying whether my case is strong enough to get a refund or if I even have a case.

I think I may have applied on line so would have selected PPI myself.

I was in receipt of Company Sick Pay (full and half pay) / PHI /Life cover at the time but due to having loans in the past with Barclays and them advising me I needed it for half pay sick cover I thought I would need it in this case too. I also didn't realise I could go and get just the half pay sick covered by another insurer.

Is anyone able to advise me if this is good enough reason for a complaint. I have a feeling they will say because I selected it myself I can't get a refund. :-(

Thanks in advance for your help and wishing everyone a good refund full weekend :-)

Hi maggie it doesn't matter whether you signed it or not, there are lots of reasons for being misold and if you have one or more then put in a claim

I've had a quick look and I cannot find Megan's post in order to quote it.

Info needed to do an estimated refund.

    1. when was the loan repaid. (after 12 payments, but how long ago?)

    2. When you repaid the £15k it most likely included a rebate of ppi. What was this figure?

    3. What was the APR of the loan?
