Having similar problem with RBS crediting money to a credit card. They received my acceptance mid June but when I rang was told they have up to 28 working days, which in fact isn't far off 6 weeks. Why is so long needed?

Hi everyone, this is my first time posting on this site, however, I have been an avid follower for a couple of years. My partner had submitted a PPI complaint last July with MINT (RBS), complaint has been on hold for almost 1 year due to JR. Today we had received a letter from them advising they are upholding the complaint without admission of liability which will be credited to the card (after this it will will only leave £370 outstanding) :). OH took the card in 2003: breakdown as follows:

refund of premiums from dec 2003 to jan 2011 - £1475.47
compound interest on premiums based upon int rate on card £1895.96
compound interest on erroneous fees £ 24.00
compund interst on erroneous fees - £0.51
    less claims paid £12.00
    total refund due - £3383.94

gross interset at fos rate - £35.11
    less tax at 20% £7.02
    net interest - (total) £28.09

more than 8 weeks to resole, int at 8% simple - £204.71
    less tax at 20% - £40.94

    net interest £163.77

    total offer - £3575.80

This only leaves a total of £370 left to pay on the card! We couldn't have done without you all :rotfl::rotfl: Thank you so much :T xx

    Well done and Congratulations!:beer::T:j

Its crazy how long it takes. I dont mind waiting if the timescales they are quoting me are correct but they're not and thats what i find frustrating

    Hi
I phoned Egg for PPI reference numbers for an old loan + credit card I had back in 2006. The operator on the phone said she would send my details to the complaints department and they will be in touch to get more details.

I haven't been contacted yet but I'm now worrying whether my case is strong enough to get a refund or if I even have a case.

I think I may have applied on line so would have selected PPI myself.

I was in receipt of Company Sick Pay (full and half pay) / PHI /Life cover at the time but due to having loans in the past with Barclays and them advising me I needed it for half pay sick cover I thought I would need it in this case too. I also didn't realise I could go and get just the half pay sick covered by another insurer.

Is anyone able to advise me if this is good enough reason for a complaint. I have a feeling they will say because I selected it myself I can't get a refund. :-(

Thanks in advance for your help and wishing everyone a good refund full weekend :-)

    Hello there

It seems you have good enough reason to make a reclaiim/complaint, it was also probably the matter of opting out and not opting in with the PPI sale online, so its assumed it's automatic.

Good luck on this and depending on how long you've been waiting for the details of your account, chase them up by ringing or maybe emailing them.;)

    Hi all,

So last time I was on, I had just received the great news that MBNA had resolved my credit card ppi claim in my favour which was fab.

Quick update, after confirming on the letter the cheque would be with me in 28 days, this has not happened (not that I'm surprised with MBNA), I have spoken to their call centre who confirmed that after sending a letter out it will usually take 7 days for them to request a cheque and then at least 3 weeks after this before the cheque will be sent. (Think they are trying to hold on to the money as long as possible). Not sure why it takes them so long, I have worked in a bank for 5 years and know that a cheque can be sent out within a couple of days. Due to constant problems with this company a goodwill cheque was sent within days of me receiving a final response letter.

Call centre just keep telling me it should be anyday now. But I'm getting frustrated. Their final response letter said it would be issued within 28 days but this hasn't happened and theres no sign of the cheque. But i dont know what to do next? Should I just be patient and thankful that it is being resolved or should I be chasing this as this is now outside of the quoted turnaround time?

    Any suggestions would be appreciated.

    Thank you

    Hi

    Well done for your success.

Sorry to hear your still waiting.

It maybe worthwhile you emailing the CEO and tell them your not happy with the way this is being dealt with, and you are still waiting for your refund.

    Keep at them, good luck.;)

    Blimey, they've had ample time!!!

As suggested on the post above as well, maybe if you've not done so yet, email the CEO, keep nagging at them.

Hope you receive your money soon as well, fingers crossed.;)

    Afternoon all

Hope everyone enjoying a bit of sunshine today :cool2:

Anyway bit of an update on ine, its nothing much but just gives others hope at times that we are not being ignored, just like other peoples posts have given me hope!

My claim is slightly different as its a few things into one.

After i was peeved with the way they were ignoring me i wrote exactly what i thought posted it, and sent it to the ceo through email.

It basically includes overdraft charges, bad staffing, ppi. their accounts and other random things i have had since being with Halifax.

Anyway first letter was 12th Jan
    They wrote back March
    They wrote back May
June i had a call to say still looking
July 18th i had a call from a lady called Lynn regarding my ppi which i posted on here on monday. She did say it was with redress and calculations etc and would pass my other complaints on to the relevant dept.

Today i have had a call (4 days from Lynn telling me i would get a call within 5 days ;):D ) from a girl called Sarah who is dealing with all my other complaints just double checking i didn't want to add anything to my 5 page letter of complaints which i had sent to them :D

Anyway she thanked me for bringing them to their notice and would be back in touch monday

So although this isn't some massive money offer, or a no, it is just giving me a bit of sight that they are actually dealing with my complaints xxx
