  • I am wondering if Barclay's have totally lost the plot now!! I have a claim in for our First Plus account and also an old credit card that was originally a Morgan Stanley card! I have also had a response from them regarding a Barclaycard that never had PPI on. I tried to put a claim in for a loan we had had with them but didnt have the account number. I therefore send a SAR request and a cheque for £10. Today I have received the deails of the old Morgan Stanley card (but no mention of it every being with Morgan Stanley) and the other Barclaycard that never had PPI on. There is no mention of the loan that I had with them.

Also on these statements that they have sent on some months it has PPI on and other months it doesnt!! I cant see why. One one statement it says insurance cancelled due to delinquency (?) and there is no PPI taken off although there is an outstanding balance!! Then the next month there is a charge for PPI - very confusing.

On the Barclaycard with no PPI there is one month that it has it and the next month it has been returned - now I vaguely remember ringing them as they had put this on the account and I queried it - they must have been trying it on!!

So there is no mention of the loan I had with them, and I know I had one it was on the Equifax file! Do you think I should now e-mail the CEO of Barclays and ask about this loan account or do you think it will come separately from the credit card statements?

    I am very confused now!!

argh, ive waited nowhere near as long as alot of you on here to reclaim and i'm irritated already at the lack of movement!
im having to claim through the fscs as my loan company is in default - i put an initial enquiry in on 27th june and as yet am still waiting to hear ANYTHING back - all i want is an application form from them!!!! exactly how hard can it be to get things done in a reasonable amount of time??????????? ringing them up twice a week hasn't got me any further than to find out there's a bit of a backlog in looking at the initial enquiries. how am i going to cope if it takes months lol? ;)

Hi everyone, this is my first time posting on this site, however, I have been an avid follower for a couple of years. My partner had submitted a PPI complaint last July with MINT (RBS), complaint has been on hold for almost 1 year due to JR. Today we had received a letter from them advising they are upholding the complaint without admission of liability which will be credited to the card (after this it will will only leave £370 outstanding) :). OH took the card in 2003: breakdown as follows:

refund of premiums from dec 2003 to jan 2011 - £1475.47
compound interest on premiums based upon int rate on card £1895.96
compound interest on erroneous fees £ 24.00
compund interst on erroneous fees - £0.51
    less claims paid £12.00
    total refund due - £3383.94

gross interset at fos rate - £35.11
    less tax at 20% £7.02
    net interest - (total) £28.09

more than 8 weeks to resole, int at 8% simple - £204.71
    less tax at 20% - £40.94

    net interest £163.77

    total offer - £3575.80

This only leaves a total of £370 left to pay on the card! We couldn't have done without you all :rotfl::rotfl: Thank you so much :T xx

Am really thrilled for you...what a wonderful result...and a huge relief?!?:)

It's so good to see an outcome loke this...celebrating this weekend, by any chance??;)

    Hi all,

So last time I was on, I had just received the great news that MBNA had resolved my credit card ppi claim in my favour which was fab.

Quick update, after confirming on the letter the cheque would be with me in 28 days, this has not happened (not that I'm surprised with MBNA), I have spoken to their call centre who confirmed that after sending a letter out it will usually take 7 days for them to request a cheque and then at least 3 weeks after this before the cheque will be sent. (Think they are trying to hold on to the money as long as possible). Not sure why it takes them so long, I have worked in a bank for 5 years and know that a cheque can be sent out within a couple of days. Due to constant problems with this company a goodwill cheque was sent within days of me receiving a final response letter.

Call centre just keep telling me it should be anyday now. But I'm getting frustrated. Their final response letter said it would be issued within 28 days but this hasn't happened and theres no sign of the cheque. But i dont know what to do next? Should I just be patient and thankful that it is being resolved or should I be chasing this as this is now outside of the quoted turnaround time?

    Any suggestions would be appreciated.

    Thank you
Threaten them with FOS if they dont pay up,give them 7 days.

Why does it feel like you are banging your head against a brick wall? Opus - now want until 31st August for a response. Initial complaint January 2011. Barclays - no quibble refund, but not a word heard. RBS agreed refund, sent acceptance 10th June 2011 - now say want 28 working days.
They are certainly quick enough to take our money. Snails pace refunding it!

Its typical of a system that will ruin your credit rating because of a few late payments and threaten you with court action and debt collectors but then do as they please to you and i with money they took by fraudulent means

Having similar problem with RBS crediting money to a credit card. They received my acceptance mid June but when I rang was told they have up to 28 working days, which in fact isn't far off 6 weeks. Why is so long needed?
28 working days for banks should be four weeks, after all they have 24 hour banking, 7 days a week, 365 days a year, I know I used to give an employee a lift to her work every day, including xmas day or new years day. Their department might not work all those days, but with the deadline ever looming I'm guessing they are working all hours god sends.
Thanks to all the competition posters.
