Nothing unfortunately! Sorry, couldn't resist as mine has supposedly been with an Adjudicator for a while now and I've had no contact or anything from them. The converse is that some people seem to get decisions very quickly so I don't know if it's due to the complexity of the case or whether the banks decide to pay people their money back straight away.

It could be quick, to it could take quite some time - I'm not sire what dictates the reponse.
Almost debt-free, but certainly even with the Banks!

hi just had a letter saying our case in now in the hands of the adjudicator can any one tell me what will happen now

    Hi Sue.

They will make a decision on the information they have to hand e.g. yours and the lenders. They then makea decision and if they uphold the complaint the lender usually has 6 weeks to comply.

Some do not as I know to my cost and take longer. If an agreement does not take place it then Goes onto the Ombudsman who then makes a final decision.

I think the thing is that be aware the FOS is a mediation service between us and the lender they can advise and hopefully the lender will follow their advice. Anyway am sure it will be OK for you in the majority of cases it all goes smoothl so good luck.:D

Quite agree BGB mine has been slow. It all depends on whom your adjudicator is perhaps. Am sure somebody knows how it works. As you say some seem to happen quickly. I think it is them that shout loudest seem to get seen quickest. . Oh well will get sorted in the end I suppose.:D

  • I'm not sure if I have come to the right site. Basically when I took out my mortgage with a broker (never again) he told me that my mortgage would only be accepted if I took out the relevant insurances which I did. Ten years later on checking the insurances it appears they all cover the same thing (mortgage protection). I feel I've been mis-sold these policies by the broker, who has long gone but am not sure what to do as these policies are not with my lender.
    Can anyone advise?
    Thanks.

    Hi there

You have come to the right place and I have also replied to your other post, but not to worry, I see here you have mentioned this is in regards of a mortgage, I think it may be a good idea for you to ring the FOS who maybe able to guide you in this case as I'm not sure on the timescales here if its mortgage related, even though still PPI, there should be ways around this but here is the link to contact the FOS below and explain what you have posted and they may be able to help you in this case, please let us know and if any further help is required, please post up anytime:

Hi Zeblet, just to wish you luck on this case and even though I have never gone that route myself I expect there have been many who have, hopefully they will post up and let you know of what to expect, but the very best of luck to you anyway, fingers crossed for you.:A ;)

Have only just (yesterday afternoon) received court bundle and LTSB defence amongst reims of papers. They also have only just sent it to the court for next Mondays hearing. Amongst the papers they now inform me that they have changed their solicitors of which I had not previously been informed. They also want me to get my statement of fact to them as they do not have a copy. Looks like they wont get that before the hearing as I doubt they work at the weekend! Do you think they have done this to unnerve me even more than I am already and can they actually submit this bundle this late. I was under the impression that all documents had to be at court at least 14 days before the hearing from what the judge instructed from previous hearing. Any help gratefully accepted.

Ok Turboman, here is the extra info:

Early settlment quote 17th Feb 06

    Balance of loan £18680.79
    Less interest rebate £2445.77
    Less insurance premium rebate £2014.58
    Total settlement amount £14220.44

Final settlement amount paid was £13854.15 due to an extra payment of £366.29 (11th payment) being made on 01/03/06. Cheque was cashed by lender on 7/3/06.

Just to be clear, these details are for the early settlement of the loan, 11 months into the 5 year term.

    Cheers for your help.

Any thoughts on my case Turboman? I have sent off my second letter asking for an increase in their offer and a refund in full.

    Cheers.

    Hi there

Bump this up for you here, as I've not been this direction myself yet, I am sure others have done, just wondering though if there may be a thread for these issues on here which may be of some help to you, there is a search box on the top right hand corner of the page, add something in there and hopefully something will come up.
Sorry I am unable to give any info on this actual part, and with a bit of luck someone will post on this for you, I wish you luck.;)
