LOL, just back myself. Cool, sounds interesting some of your complaints. I've been on this site for years myself, but only really paid much attention to the reclaiming in the past few months, tried before and was unsuccesful, partly because I gave up and partly because I didn't read and check enough before claiming, now armed to the teeth and have read the FSA handbook a couple of times now(nerd I know) so that when the banks come back with a no I can hit them back with the parts of the handbook.:D

just as we all thought this proves again what we already knew, the banks still are doing nothing about treating customers properly.

  • Hi, I was wondering if anyone could give me some advice. Until recently I didn't appreciate that I had it on my credit cards. I have been offered PPI in the past when I have taken out loans but have always refused it because I am a civil servant and have good terms & conditions as far as sickness or redundancy are concerned. I took out my credit cards years ago and was quite young and naive. I didn't ask for the PPI (at least I didn't verbally - I have no idea what I put on the form at the time) and I didn't get any advice from the woman at the building society who helped me complete the form, otherwise in the same way as I have with loans I would have turned it down.

My question is, would this be a good enough reason to get the PPI back in a claim? Or has anyone had any success claiming for similar reasons?

Yes, they have sold you a policy that didn't suit your demands and needs, and they didn't check to see if you had cover elsewhere, read the reclaim section, fill out the FOS consumer questionnaire and pop it off recorded delivery.

    Morning fellow claimants.

I'm now into my 9th week with my claims.

I keep reading that people are chasing the institutions and wonder whether I should? Or is it still too soon?

Also, would you try ringing first, or would you just email the CEO?
