PPI Reclaiming Discussion part 4

I find it strange no one has had anything from Barclays yet.
I have put in for my PPI refund at Barclays end of June.
I also cancelled my PPI and have just got a letter - from what I can see I am going to have an extra 885.00 added to my loan! The monthly repayments will be a few pounds less but my loan has been extended.
I have to pay for the privelledge of cancelling something I shouldn't of had in the first place! Just want to check does anyone know if I do cancel this if it will effect my chance of getting a PPI refund?
The new FSA handbook clearly states that if ppi is on a loan which is ongoing, and if found in favour you should be put in a position you should've been in if you had not taken out the ppi. You shouldn't have to pay more, but perhaps if you post up more of the finer details some of the more 'experienced' members and number crunchers can have a look for you. Thanks to all the competition posters.0 -
Hi Dizzy, you should phone both companies and Cap One to see what is going on, you instructed a claims co and now you end up paying for 2 companies?, dont understand this at all, give FOS a ring and ask if they can help, dont know if they can but it is worth a try.
Could you post the letter word for word from Cap One?,please as this may help us more.
The do not disclose part of the letter would apply to you telling anyone about the refund  thats blown it then i would think.:rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:
Hi
Well I have finally been able to sort this all out - well I think but silly me forgot to ask them what they meant by not telling any third party about it!!!
Well it appears that the £330.56 refund onto my Cap One account wasnt for mis-sold PPI it was for excessive fees, etc (?). Well £274 was for this £55 was for legal costs (?) for claiming them back. So the solicitors (that I didnt realise were involved with Consumer Net) want thier £55 back that Cap One have paid off my balance!!! And Consumet Net want their £25% plus vat!!! I didnt even know they were claiming back excessive fees but apparently all claims companies do this as well as claiming back PPI. My details for claiming mis-sold PPI that Cap One have rejected have been sent off to the FOS apparently! God knows what "extra" charges they will expect me to pay if I get all that back!!! I told them anyway that I didnt have this money as my husband is only working 3 weeks out of 4 so I have gained time with this!!!
So basically I now think that Cap One, Consumet Net and Ashworth Law are all crooks!!!
Also, as stated in a post the other day, Direct Line wrote to us regarding our SAR request stating that they needed to speak to us urgently!!!! I rang them today (took time off work today so sort all this out) and all they wanted me to ring them for was to confirm my date of birth and address!!! These were all on the SAR request anyway so I do think all these companies are just trying time wasting tactics!!!!
Does anyone know have Egg been given this extended 16 weeks as other banks have - I am due to hear from them by the 7th July so just wondering!!0 -
Dizzywithmoney wrote: »Hi - my husband received a letter back from Black Horse today. He doesnt really understand it all and is starting to get quite frustrated. We couldnt find any details of his loan with Black Horse so sent off a cheque for £10 with the standard SAR letter and today they have sent it all back (again this is the second time we have tried as the first time we just sent £1 asking for the agreement, etc). The letter states that "I have been undertaking searches of our systems and unfortunately I have not been able to locate an agreement for you with the information that you have provided. In order that we may comply with your request please provide us a valid agreement number with any further information, for example any previous address that may assist us in locating your details. Once we have located your agreement we will send the infrormation that you have requested. Please find enclosed your original request and £10 payment with this letter, which can be re-issued to us with any furture correspondence you send.
We dont have the agreement number and have lived at this address since 1986 - so is that it can we not continue with the claim any further? I was under the impression that if we requested a SAR and enclosed the £10 they had to find the account details - or have I got that wrong too.
Also we sent off another couple of SAR requests with £10 but none of them have been cashed in yet. Do you think we have maybe done something wrong?
Hi - I rang the garage where he bought the car from today and a very helpful lady told me that they should still have the agreement number but unfortuantely they had changed computers a couple of years ago and it hadnt been transferred. So the next thing I have done is e-mail the CEO at Black Horse to see if we get any joy from him! If not then it will be the Equifax thing that Cappo (I think it was him) suggested we do!!!0 -
I have had an outstanding PPI claim with HSBC which was submitted in July 2010!!!
Had a phone call from them today saying they are now looking at my claim and asked me some more questions about why I thought it was missold to me - which I answered.
Is this the norm? Cant believe it has been over a year already for them to finally look into it !!!0 -

Hi there
Yes this can happen, and also because they are trying to get the backlogs dealt with for as soon as possible, maybe another reason for them doing this.
Good luck on your reclaming.;)The one and only "Dizzy Di"0 -

The worse thing you can do on a loan,is to cancel the ppi, your loan has now been extended.
I know hindsight is a good thing!! but if you had won mis sell, the whole ppi would have been taken off your loan and your monthly payment would have reduced by the ppi monthly amount.
You should have a "recieved your complaint" letter within the next week.
Then they have 16 weeks to deal with your claim, hopefully you will hear before this, so good luck and fingers crossed x.0 -

What a rip of 25% plus vat.
At least you know for the next time x.
Egg seem to be going great guns at the moment, there have been a few winners on here,so you could be one the next.
Fingers crossed and please let me know how you get on with FP.0 -
Hi there, at least you have a little more time before you have to give them the 355,they are all rip off if you ask me, people on this site have won thousands for the price of a recorded delivery letter,

Yes I will keep you all informed. My next contact from Egg is due on 7.7.11 so I am wondering if it will be a no or an offer or an extended time letter!!!
As for the First Plus account I am quite excited about that one!!! I just wish the money was put into our bank before the end of this month and not by the end of August (I am being awful now arnt I?) as my husband has set holidays and it would have been nice to have had a little holiday away (he has been on short time working so money is very tight at the moment) but he is back at work on 15.8.11 - nevermind there is always next year I suppose!!
I promise I will keep you informed.0 -
Hi,
Can anyone help please??
I am trying to reclaim PPI back on a Capital One credit card i took out in 2004, i have sent the initial letter asking for my T&C's and they have written back to say they arent obliged to send me them as i have just cancelled my account. Do i need the T&C's to make a claim and if i do what should i say in my next letter to them to ensure i get them?
Many thanks0
