PPI Reclaiming Discussion part 4

Hi
There's a lot to read on here but wondering if anybody can help? Had a letter today from the bank stating that they are willing to settle my claim for miss-selling the PPI on my card BUT they state that if accept the settlement now they'll pay the amount back on to my credit card not give me a cheque. Can they do this? Do I not have a choice? Everybody else seems to have got a cheque?
Somebody help!
thanks

Remember to cancel the service within 30 days though or you will start to pay for it.
I find it very convenient that all of these companies cannot locate records when they think it will cost them in reclaims
This was my cunning way of tripping them up, so hopefully it will work for others.
Oh and I would also like to mention that I am one of the 0.01% of proactive men on here lol.
And there is a section at the end of the report that tells you how to contact them if you feel there is an error with anything on the report.
Again Ian this is fab!:T
And funny enough I am about to try to make reclaims on even more mis sold PPI via Lloyds, these are from 1996/1998, the final 2, PPI was always added without fail, never any good for me, and have so far been successful in the other 6 maybe 7 or 8 loans with the Credit Card ppi as well.
But I do have the amount and remember the monthly repayment but cannot for the life of me find the account numbers, I do have a SAR and nothing in relation to them enclosed, but yet again, as you may be aware I was successful in 2 other loan PPI with them just a few weeks ago, all I had was the account numbers for these, 1999 to 2001.
In regards of these 2 recent wins they could not provide me (before i made the reclaim on them) with the agreements as they confirmed they no longer held them - yet when we were successful they did ask us to refer back to them if we need to check them and they are with the branch.
It just goes to show doesn't it?;)The one and only "Dizzy Di"0 -

Hi Nicky
I assumed if there were no arrears your able to request they refund directly to you, but it seems they do what they want to do, you could argue that you've already been deprived of your money and wish that it would be refunded directly, especially if they accepted liability and its not an offer of settlement as such.
Wait for other opinions if you want to and well done!:beer:The one and only "Dizzy Di"0 -
Hello all.
Massive forum, so not sure where to post to ask for assistance.
Just started down the road of claiming missell on PPI via First PLus. Found the Complaints website and utilised their excellent advice however not found anything specific enough to assist in my case.
Loans taken out in 2003 and repaid in 2007 via remortgate. (got out as fast as possible). First plus PPI was sold as cashback and front-loaded so v dodgey indeed!
So anyway, received a letter from FP, it appears I took out the loan via a broker, Midland and General T/A Purple loans. Now owned by GE money. FP have referred it to Midland and general and it appears they won't accept any ownership of the loan as they didn't take on the brokerage to other companies when they took over Midland & General.

Hiya
Normally its that of the broker you pursue/the ones that set it up for you, but in your case as its seems to have been moved from one lender to another, I would contact the FOS just as a general query, tell them your predicament and you want to get it right this time round, you want to be sure where and who to send your complaint to.
They should be able to help and direct you to the one and hopefully have the address details as well, good luck.
