life insurance is nothing to do with ppi but the "salesman" at the bank would have banked a hefty commission from the sale. but your certainly right beamer suggesting that the banks are now pushing these life insurance policies instead of ppi now as obviously ppi is banned and there going to be pushing this now until something else comes along that they can get there greedy grabbing hands on, i've found out that they are working already on the next generation of rip off products and a replacement for ppi to sic on unsuspecting consumers. don't you just love the #@nkers

Cappo, the answer is simple. If a BANK tries to sell you a policy of any kind be it for a loan etc etc. tell them you are going to get 3 independent quotes first. You will no doubt find a cheaper product elsewhere by searching the net.

Right now off to tell him to work out when he got the car and when he paid it off so "he" (me of course) can write to the garage and ask them!!! Moaning and groaning!!! But now if he got a cheque how different things would be!!!

If it was repaid within the last 6 years, it will still be showing on his Equifax credit report.

Get him to sign up for the free 30 day trial and request a report (takes 5 minutes if that).

The loan will show on there, but it will only show you the last 4 or 5 digits of the account number.

If you contact the company with this info and they still can't find it, do what I did.

Write to Equifax and dispute the loan being on the credit report, citing that you have contacted the company and they have no records of the loan existing and that you cannot recall it either.

Tell them that you think a mistake has been made.

They then contact the provider and if it is anything like what happened with me, you will get a letter from the loan provider stating that the loan must stay on there as it cannot be removed before 6 years has elapsed.

The loan account number will be on their letter ;)

morning guys right ive heard back from egg with regards to my original credit card agreement they have sent me a copy and its shows i have signed and dated it but there is no opt in or opt out of the ppi on it what so ever,as some of you may recall i had a letter from egg upholding my complaint but only refunding £200 ish of it due to them only going back six years even though i originaly took the card out in 03,so i sent a request for my original agreement to hopefully prove i was paying ppi back in 03 so they can re adjust my refund, right so i have my agreement with my signiture and a date 15//5/03 and on the actual agreement section it reads

each month you must pay a direct debit at least the minimum payment by the payment date show in your statement unless we tell you otherwise the minimum payment will be.....

    2% of the statement total

    the total of
    interest billed on the statement
    1%of the statement total

ANY CARD REPAYMENT PROTECTION PREMIUM SHOWN ON YOUR STATEMENTS

billed fees for overlimit late and returned payments shown on the statement
    £5

so my question is is this work photo copying and sending back to egg as evidence that i was paying ppi and asking them re calculate my figures :)

    many thanks in advance

LOL, found your post just the page before lol :D:rotfl: no worries, its because of the many posts posted after :rotfl::rotfl:.

Anyway, in regards of this, I would definately send them a "copy" in hope they consider looking into the refund further for you, its known other banks have said they would do this, so see what they have to say if you want to, good luck. x;)

I have been on the CEO's case constantly this week. Emailed again today just saying i'm not happy with Halifax's response etc etc (I couldn't resist!) So we will see what happens :)
I should really take Cappo's advice and learn to be patient! I did use to be patient but think i've been waiting so long now I just want it sorted.
It worked for me too with Black Horse. I only had to email the CEO a couple of times, then a few days after I got one letter saying they hadn't dealt with my complaints yet, I got another letter saying they are upholding my complaints! Halifax seem a tougher nut to crack, although they're both owned by Lloyds! Strange :(
I've just got a feeling they will leave it til right near the deadline (end August) to give me an outcome. They haven't been in any hurry so far.
hi i've got 3 complaints with black horse been in since 2nd feb phoned yestday got the usual not got to yours yet and don't know when we will but should be before 31 august.when did you submit yours and what was the email you used for ceo. thanxs in advance

Emailed the CEO yesterday at HSBC regarding my 2 M&S Money claims put on hold due to JR. Within 15 minutes had received an email reply that it would be passed straight to a senior member of their PPI complaints team. Had a call at 8.15am this morning on my mobile (I had put the number on the email) and a very helpful lady said that the FSA had given them until, I think the 14th August, to deal with complaints put on hold but, as I had contacted them they would pull the files and I would receive a response by the end of next week.

So anyone with M & S complaints on hold I suggest you email the CEO at HSBC and they will deal with your complaint more promptly.

Fingers and everything else crossed now on these that I get the same result as the others I have claimed.

At least they told the truth to you. Yesterday I phoned for an update and was told "we sent out waivers to you today as they have been upheld". Got a call back later to be told that was incorrect as the note on the system was just a reminder for them rather than actually something that was done and I was still in the queue. Not happy at all.

  • Hi All,

Just needed some help and advice please.

I have been paying off my credit cards through a debt management plan since 2005 so these debts are now with cabolt moorcroft etc.

I want to reclaim PPI who do I write to and where do I look up addresses? Do I write to original bank and what happens if that bank is part of another bank?????

I am asthmatic and also I don't think I was asked if I wanted PPI and in the case of one of them had to ring MBNA to find out what it was on my bill. They eventually took it off after a second call but no refund was offered.

I do have some old statements so do I just put old account numbers but not sure if addresses are still correct or right ones to send claim in to?

    Thanks for all help offered.

    Hi there

Even if your account is with another company now, you still pursue the ones responsible for mis selling it to you in the first place.

Please be aware though, that any refund may be awarded to the debt, anything remaining plus interest I believe is awarded directly to you, although it may differ from one back to another.

So basically you complete the reclaim questionnaire (this replaced the template letter) and send to the head office or complaints dept of the business who set up and sold you the account, keep a copy for yourself as well and allow 8 weeks for a decision, they should let you know if they require more time, good luck and the questionnaire is enclosed below - step 3.
