is there anyway i can find my previous posts at all pls?
by the way, as long as it is, this was my post the other week i realised i had popped it in wrong discussion so im copying it in here mainly for others to fall asleep too whoops i mean read whats going on in case it can be of any help and of course for me to so i can keep an eye on dates etc....
Apologies for length
Hi All,
Ill try to keep this short and sweet but if its anything like my letter last night to Halifax i may failIt ended up being 4 a4 pages long and whoa did i let it all out
I first contacted Halifax January with the standard letter
I received a letter back in March saying the usual and they would get back to me
I received another letter in April saying they were still looking into it
I heard nothing back so last night decided to get it all off my system, i think they will pay out just to refrain me from writing them essays again !!:rotfl:
My basics are.
One credit card with ppi on it, this started off in 2006 at £5 per month and was recently, until i cancelled it, @ £12.00 a month, it was done over the phone but i know i would not have ticked the box for ppi as i have always had a second income and often been self employed so the ppi would not have covered me anyway. So thats one im trying to claim back. I also found some paperwork that id signed for life cover with it and yet have nothing else to go along side that!
While i was writing to them for an update i thought what the hell in for a penny in for a pound ill let them know how i feel about a few other complaints i had.
I have 2 accounts 1 for 10 years plus which is an electron which i was recently told was basically a childs account and they dont issue anymore, The other a reward account, there has been masses and masses of problems, me upgrading but them not doing it properly, then telling me i had upgraded but only done it half, the masses of charges the list goes on and on, Recently i went in to discuss some personal matters to be told by the branch manager..." can i log this as a complaint, we are being urged to tell customers to do this" anyway it was a complete mess so i wrote all that in my letter saying how unprofessional the staff were how id spent hours on the phone id gone into branches and been badly advised, luckily i keep a diary with names so they got the lot. So the basis on that is im looking at all charges i have received through the mess up of an overdraft i was led to believe was a one off fee a month but actually was £1 a day and £5 just for having it.
I also have a loan with Halifax, this is due to end next year, never missed a payment and i didn't have ppi on it, my point for my cc was,,, why would i want it on another product if i didnt have it on this! I do have to check some paperwork though to see if i did one of these " front" payments and did a lump sum at the beginning.
My main beef with the loan was i did this over the phone and before i actually got the money i receievd a "rbos" bank card come through, never having a loan before i presumed the credit limit on it was linked to my loan and thats how i got to the money.. It had a £500 limit on it so i used it as i had taken the loan to help with moving costs, I was not told about this account "preference" they call it, id have preferred not to have it now looking back!! So i ended up with another bank account with Royal bank of scotland after taking a loan out with Halifax!! I wonder if they will look into this too,
So the run down is
1 ppi halifax credit card
1 badly set up reward account,
1 childs account they dont even do anymore which doesnt earn me credit rating
1 extra bank account i never even asked for.
Do you think they will,,,," waaaaaaaaaaakeeeee up im nearly done lolol... do you think they will look into all things together and treat me fairly and as they had hit the 8 week time limit regarding my first complaint will me now spilling it all out delay things or will mr Halifax just hand me an open cheque book :rotfl:
ok im done but of course ill return xx2025 Wins ::

I'm having problems with Capital One too.
I sent in the questionnaire, they replied sending me my original agreement from 2003 and I had not ticked the PPI box. They said I agreed to PPI when I reactivated my new card in 2005. I can't remember this ever happening or receiving the policy they said they sent to me. They also said they were unable to supply a transcript of the phone call which I requested.
I wrote to them today and the FOS as Cap One are saying that is their final decision.
I said that I did not agree to PPI when I applied for the card, cannot recall the phone call and never received or signed any agreement.
Just have to wait and see what happens
Kay
What i would advise everyone to do is if you get a capital 1 case rejected send it to the fos the fos must be made to realise that cap 1 are selling a lot of these "duff" policies and it,s no good the fos turning a blind eye and saying the policies and sales are "non advised" it's time that this stopped, the more of these cases that are submitted the more the fos hopefully realise that they can't keep covering for them which is what they are doing, they need to realise if there is that much of an issue with ppi sold by cap 1 the fos needs to be asking why0 -

Recieved letters from Lloyds TSB this morning comfirming that my claims will be dealt with 'as soon as possible and in any event by 31st August at the latest'.
I was expecting a decision to be made around this time anyway (although I won't complain if its sooner rather than later!). But it's nice to have a definitive date written in black and white. Bring on the deluge of success stories.2018 wins: Hong Kong holiday0 -

It would be about time thundercat.0 -
Totally agree cappo! Especially for all those poor souls who have been waiting for a decision since last year!
I can't moan 'too much', as my complaint was raised in March. Still been long enough to put my patience to the test though.2018 wins: Hong Kong holiday0 -
Caught up at last, man what a day, sorry i missed you all today, been driving out colchester way to pick up abandoned kittens (long day)
Hi Cappo,
Thanks for coming back to me, and what a wonderful thing to do, picking up unwanted kittens..:A
All my pets are "rescue" pets, and if I had the space would have hundreds!! Would not be without them...they make a house a home, for sure.
You have encouraged me to look at older accounts, maybe there is something to explore there...
Thanks again,0 -
What i would advise everyone to do is if you get a capital 1 case rejected send it to the fos the fos must be made to realise that cap 1 are seling a lot of these "duff" policies and it,s no good the fos turning a blind eye and saying the policies and sales are "non advised" it's time that this stopped, the more of these cases that are submitted the more the fos hopefully realise that they can't keep covering for them which is what they are doing, they need to realise if there is that much of an issue with ppi sold by cap 1 the fos needs to be asking why
I agree! There is a common thread running through these posts, that Capital One's default position is NO!
I cannot fathom why their cases are upheld at FOS level, surely there should be a case for proving that they did not mis sell the insurance. As Cappo says, the fos seem to be turning a blind eye, but they can't fail to notice the sheer number of complaints, and the fact that Capital One seem disinclined to even investigate, time they got fined again!:mad:0 -

Hi there, I think testing your patience is exactly what they are trying to do..everyday they stall, they make interest on any money they would have to pay out...on top of the ££billions already stashed, that is!
Keep at it...your resiliance will pay off..as Di says, think of the interest mounting up!:):)0 -
I've now had another letter from LTSB today re an enquiry i made several weeks ago regarding LTSB's reluctance to admit i have ppi on my credit card,i don't know whether there stringing me along now or what, bearing in mind i've never been able to even get an account number out of them and no info apart from the aforementioned "you do not have any ppi on your credit card, ha ha what a joke, there now saying after i've kicked off with customer services and the ceo they want 16 weeks to investigate, well i'll have my sar by then (hopefully) so are going to grab the bull by the horns i know i had ppi on my credit card because i always did, mind you i am at least hearing from them which is something i suppose lol.0
