Thanks to Martin and the fourm I have been instilled with the confidence to seek to reclaim my PPI from Bank of Scotland. This has however been an uphill struggle as my complaint was registered with them since Sept 2010 after being ignored by the banks I forwarded it to the financial ombudsman, both now say that they are working through the back log and will be in touch in due course. I have emailed the CEO and recieved another letter saying basically that these things take time -?? But how much time? I am quite anxious to get a result soon as I was actively cooerced into taking a product that I did not need and now feel that there should be some redress. I have been accepted to do a postgraduate course at university and this money may mean the difference from being able to attend or not! Is anyone one else dealing with the BOS and if so what stage and with what result? Many thanks x
Hiya
With yours being one of the cases caught up due to the JR, then you should be hearing anytime now, keep on at them, the best of luck.;)The one and only "Dizzy Di"0 -

I sent the claim form in at the end of May and have received an acknowledgement letter and today a letter saying about delays and I will hear within 16 weeks of the date of complaint
This is all fine by me, but I've not seen any success or failure stories about IF, is this because they are now known as Halifax?
No bad news is good news as they say!
Hiya
I expect there have been, its a very long thread, but wishing you luck on your reclaiming, please keep us posted, cheers.;)The one and only "Dizzy Di"0 -

New to this thread. I first registered my complaint about Lloyds PPI in July 2008. I am still waiting. It seems that in April 2010 an adjudicator wrote to LLoyds saying they were upholding my claim. No response from them, so it had to go to the ombudsman but I'm still waiting. I get a letter from time to time saying they are very busy and that's it. I really need that money. my health not very good and I'm broke so it would be a huge weight off my mind to get it settled. My claim is for £2324.oo not including interest and the adjudicator recommende that Lloyds pay me an extra £200.00 compensation for stress and inconveneince! Ha! Ha1
Hiya
You have been waiting a very long time, and the interest will soon add up too.
I would if you've not done so yet, make them aware of your health conditions getting worse.
Good luck. The one and only "Dizzy Di"0 -
Hi
Further to my letter from Halifax on 3 june saying they had received our complaint and would deal with it within 8 weeks I have now had a letter basically saying:
"We are writing to provide you with a further update. I am sorry for the delay etc. I can confirm we will respond to your complaint as soon as possible and in any event sixteen weeks from the date we received your complaint (which was about 31 May). This is in line with the specific requirements that the FSA has published for the handling of PPI complaints. You can find full details of the FSA's requirements on their website blah blah blah. I am sorry that I have not been able to respond fully to your complaint but rest assured that we are working to resolve your complaint as soon as we can"
Anyway is this more delaying before telling us to forget it and is 16 weeks normal? Sorry I couldnt find my original post to make this make sense.
Thanks

Hi there
this is correct that banks have been given extra time, and lots are receiving the same letters.
Because of the backlog due to the Judicial Review hold up, the FSA agreed to extend the time from 8 to 16 weeks, however it may still take less that the 16 weeks predicted with a bit of luck.
Hope you hear soon, good luck. The one and only "Dizzy Di"0 -

Your very welcome, good luck.;):)
Actually could i just ask - With your vast experience (which is extremely helpful) do you think it is likely we will receive anything back or are we on the pile for lets string them along or are they seriously going to consider our request. Not trying to get our hopes up too much of course!!!0 -

Hiya
Personally I do think you stand a great chance of being successful and my hunch is that it would have been rejected by now in my personal opinion.;)The one and only "Dizzy Di"0 -
