As far as I can recall, I've never been contacted by them unless I've accidentally gone over my limit or had to activate a new card, which is the only opportunity I've had to refuse any additional services. I've always refused the additional ID theft protection. PPI to my knowledge has never come up.

Is there a limit to how long before I appeal/pursue?

theoretically no. i have pursued and won a case with LTSB and now pursueing another one after 16 years.

    Hi All,

An update on mine although it seems Halifarts are sending out mass mailing, as i got the letter the majority did by the looks of it,

I first contacted them in jan regarding ppi on a credit card
They wrote back in March, standard letter looking into it etc
They wrote back in April , held up due to jc, looking into it etc

I wrote to them last week which ended up a self written 4 page letter regarding the ppi but also bringing in about 3 other accounts i have personal issues with regarding charges and how i had been treated by Halifax staff,

Today i got the letter saying the same as others with my ate being 31st August hear by date and of course if i need any further assistance to get in touch etc...

With peoples experience of this, do you " think" and i know no-one can say for definite but is it worth
    a) contacting them asking if everything i stated in my last letter is being looked into
    b) sending my letter to the ceo as it is very deep regarding staffing etc
    c) sit and wait

    thanks in advance xx

    Hi there

This does seem to be the case now, everyone receiving letters to make them aware of the extra time given by the FSA to deal with complaints, and in an orderly manner.
Was just checking the website as well, and it confirms dates in there also, but personally even though there is absolutely no harm in you contacting them regular for updates, try to sit tight if you can.

And again even though they have given a timescale, they may still manage to deal with it before that, so fingers crossed and please keep us posted, cheers.

OK, there is nothing we can do to bring forward our complaints as with some banks the FSA have extended the reply to 16 weeks.

You can rest assured that this extra time period is and will give Banks time to re-think the next ploy of "fob offs"

Why give extra time ??? The banks created their own problem when they decided to steal money from their customers on false pretences..... 100% FRAUD

They dug their own hole and its going to cost them a lot of money. My advice is just keep hitting the CEO OVER AND OVER AGAIN.

DO NOT GIVE THESE BANKS AN INCH ...... PRESSURE THEM

This extension will cost the banks even more, infact another 8 weeks of 8% interest, the longer they take, the more they will have to pay out
