this is the letter i recieved today off barclays ..............we are writing to update you following the recent letter we sent you acknowledging your ppi complaint.the purpose of this letter is to explain that it may take a little longer to respond to you and the date we previously gave you has changed .we will reply to your complaint no later than 30 august 2011.i realise this delay is disappointing.please accept my assurance we are doing everything we can to respond to your complaint as quickly as possible and that the outcome of your complaint will not be adversely affected by this delay.as we told you we would normally deal with your complaint within 8 weeks of recieving it however,we have a backlog of ppi complaints which we are urgently dealing with.the fsa has granted us a waiver to the time limits set out in their rules allowing us more time to deal with your complaint.depending on when we recieve a complaint, this can be up to 16 weeks.your complaint will be dealt with as soon as possibleand may take much less time than this.a copy of the fsaswaiver can be found on our website within the section what is happening now at xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx................................................................my claim has been in 7 weeks on monday so i guess it shouldnt be much longer now and because of the length of time its already been in hopefully it has a good chance of being upheld HOPEFULLY lol

We've all got a theory on here that as stands to reason the longer a case has been in the less likely it is to be rejected, 7 weeks is a long time to have a complaint "live" and not to have been rejected.
