  • Hey all

    I just wanted to thank everyone for their help over the last few weeks regarding my PPI claim. I have only made a few posts on here but the invaluable help you have given me regarding timescales/email addresses etc has resulted in an excellent outcome.

    I am please to say that I have just had a response from MBNA who have upheld my complaint after 8 months for nearly £3,500. This was a complete shock as was only expecting around £1,500. They have confirmed I should have this within 28days. Woohoo!!!!!!

    Thank you so much to everyone as I would never have had the confidence to do this without all your help!!!!!

    Nice one sticky,well done :T:j:beer::D
  • I was declared bankrupt in June 2008 and discharged in January 2009. One of my creditors was Egg who provided me with a loan for £10,000. When I took out this loan I was told that I would need to pay for payment protection insurance in order to get the loan approved. I was fully employed at this stage of the application. I was not made aware that this was optional and believed it to be part of the normal loan process. I have since found out this was missold to me and would like to know if I am able to claim back for payments to this insurance during the time I was repaying the loan. Before bankruptcy I did not miss any repayments. I am struggling to find all the paperwork and statements but do have the latest annual statement from them outlining the the loan and the PPI which was £4063.70 for the £10,000 loan. Please can you advise if I am able to make a claim for payments made into this PPI. Jo

    Hiya

    And yes do mention this to them, and tell them your aware of the extra time, but understand this only affects complaints made and received after 21 April 2011.
    Also provide a copy of any evidence you have as well in case that helps, good luck.

    I have phoned Barclays & am now completely confused. I apparently have two reference numbers & both complaints against these numbers were received after the 21st April but i only posted one letter!!!! Anyway the lady was very helpful on the phone and basically said i will be contacted before the 16 weeks is up. I think i may have two reference numbers because i am claiming against 2 separate loans. Looks like i will just have to sit back & wait.

    Received a letter this morning and got all excited as my complaints have been in with them since Nov 2010. Opened the envelope only to find the bog standard "thank you for letting us know about your concerns" letter with a leaflet explaining the investigation process. I really don't understand what is going on! Any ideas? Anybody?

    Also I originally complained with regard to two loans but I now have three PPI complaint reference numbers??? Do you think they've found one I'd forgotten about???

    Help they are driving me insane :doh::mad::eek:

    Hi jo i don't see why not you certainly have good reasons to claim and if your bankruptsy is discharged now any refund should'nt be used to offset your bankruptsy
