I have today received another letter from Barclays stating that I will hear again from them by the 17th or 25th August. This is another set back because the previous letter stated they would make a decision by 30th June, this as probably been extended due to the FOS granting the banks longer. My question now is my first letter was sent to them 18th April 2011 first class by recorded delivery. This is 2 days before the deadline which Barclays announced last week regarding paying a goodwill gesture. Although after my letter of the 18th April I received one back explaining I did not have PPI on my overdraft which I then had to reply correcting them explaining it was regarding my loan, but this does not change the fact that my first initial letter was sent on the 18th April which I am sure would of reached them by the 20th.

Would it help if wrote a letter back explaining that my initial complaint was sent on the 18th April or maybe a phone call?

    Hiya

And yes do mention this to them, and tell them your aware of the extra time, but understand this only affects complaints made and received after 21 April 2011.
Also provide a copy of any evidence you have as well in case that helps, good luck.

Here's food for thought, what about this one beamer (never happen though)

What a stupid idea!!!!! never heard anything so ridiculous in my life.
I would rather not have any shares and put this money back into the economy, this is profit after paying back the bail out loan to the gov, i would rather see this being used to reduce the deficit and for people to keep their jobs.

The coalition wont want to do that ...why?.... because they cannot justify still making harsh spending cuts if they reduce the deficit, and we cant have that can we?.
.That is not the Tory way.;)
The banks caused the financial crisis and the profit should be use for the good of the economy.

Clegg needs to get a grip and take his nice fat pension and fade away.. :j:j
Does he think people will vote for him just because they get a few shares?..... methinks not :D:D;)

Sorry :( rant over :rotfl::rotfl: back to reclaiming :cool:
  • Hi all,

Have potential ppi reclaims with mbna x2, homebank mortgages - a front loaded policy, black horse finance - for mfi kitchen loan.

I have pre existing medical condition for all - ie type 1 diabetes from aged 11.

I had a blue chip companies sick pay scheme in place before all ppi policies started - so therefore i did not need the cover anyway.

the credit card ppi is nearly 10 years old.

Am I better going down the template route - ie doing it myself or using a claims company to do it? they want a % of potential settlement but say they will get me more back than i could get myself......

Also I was told the ppi on the mortgage was necessary to get the mortgage.

So do I reclaim on numerous grounds or is it best practice to chose one reason for the mis selling?

Can anyone who has been down this route please advise??

    Thanks

    Good morning to you all

I have a current claim in with EGG for mis-selling PPI, but also wondered what else they are deducting from my account every month? This is what my statement shows:

    11 May 2011PAYMENT 2 EGG . GB£93.13 CR27 May 2011CREDIT CARD REPAYMENT PROTECTOR£20.83 DR27 May 2011MERCHANDISE INTEREST AT 1.667 PER MONTH£43.30 DR

Does this mean only £29 of the £93.13 is being deducted from the balance?

    Thanks for your help

that sounds about right beverley, paying minimum payments? you don't actually pay much off the capital borrowed, it;s all interest and of course ppi. This is why it takes so long to pay a credit card off with paying minimum payments, the card companies are supposed to use your payments now to pay off the dearer borrowing first but whether this actually happens is debateable.

If you cannot get out of the house to post a letter or send someone to do it for you then use a company:rotfl::rotfl:
    Sorry, couldnt resist that :D

You will get all the help you need on here for free and it is so easy it is laughable, the claims co only do what you can do and for the same as the postage will cost you.
Stick with us and you wont go far wrong.
Also I was told the ppi on the mortgage was necessary to get the mortgage.
Mortgage ppi is tricky, Our poster Dunstonh has knowledge in this field, and i am sure that he will be along to help you more with this.
So do I reclaim on numerous grounds or is it best practice to chose one reason for the mis selling?

Take a look here for reasons for mis sell (for the loan, until you find out about the mortgage ppi)
    http://www.moneysavingexpert.com/reclaim/ppi-loan-insurance#step2
If any/all apply to you then put a claim in, the template letter is on the link also.
If you need any more help just ask.

Another thing to remember apart from the fact that the claims are so easy to do yourself is the time factor 3 years ago i put claims in to a cmc and there still not completed,i do them myself now, much quicker, easier and i really think if you've been misold you make a recovery quicker.:rotfl: (romstits post, sorry clicked wrong one)

Cappo is correct with this i am afraid, if you win mis sell then they may take the win off the card (they may not) and this will reduce your minimum monthly payment so you could increase it to pay more off the balance.
Credit cards are terrible, they like to keep you in debt for a long time unless you pay it back in full each month.
