i am trying to reclaim PPI, who are the best people to ask for help?.. who would people recommend through good expereinces themselves?.

Thanks -

Hi there

I would not use a claims company, lots have had problems and they only do what we do here anyway, but less paperwork involved too if you have a go yourself.

Its just a matter of completing the reclaim questionnaire as on step 3 below.
http://www.moneysavingexpert.com/reclaim/ppi-loan-insurance#step3

Complete/send to the ones who set up your account - Head office or complaints dept, keep copies and allow 8 weeks for a decision.

And of course there are lots of us here that can help, and free of course.:D

Good luck.

Any pleasant surprises in the mailbox today guys (email or letters)

Yes Cappo, I received an email this morning stating that my PPI complaint has been ESCALATED to Stephen Hester???? :j

BUT it then asked me to give full details of accounts, DOB, address etc. So emailled back referring them back to my original email (with scanned copies of all correspondence attached) and said I was not willing to resend sensitive info over internet. :(

Awaiting their response.

Hi di3004, Thank so much ill have a look at the link and see where to go from there, the companies are asking 25-30% of whatever you manage to reclaim, I made that mistake with an old loan I had and they took over half of it so was "scared to say the least of going via just anyone!".
I hope you dont mind but I have another quick question the loan I am trying to reclaim is one I that I had sent of the paper work to the CCS and they then said "oh yeah we can help" but I have heard nothing since that initial letter back in October last year, can I look into this myself? or am I bound into a contract only I started this in October last year and haven't heard anything not even a "yes we still have this and are trying etc", nothing at all since the letter in October ??? sorry if I have waffled and if you need more info please do shout!!.. thanks in advance

Hi there

Not a problem.;)

Personally I would contact the Claims Regulation on this CCS company in case they are no longer running, I am not sure of them, but Claims Regs may know more.
http://www.justice.gov.uk/global/contacts/claims-management-regulation/index.htm

If they are no longer active they should have said, but you never know with claims companies, so contact the above and ask of them on there, and if they aware aware that the company are no longer active you should be able to continue to do this yourself.

However, with it being 8 months since the last time you heard that is not right.

Please let us know, thanks.;)

I would give it a try, obviously your full name, address, maybe date of birth will be asked, and those last 4 digits may also be of some help too.

Good luck.;)

Many thanks di3004,

ill have a look into this and keep you posted, they charged me an up front fee of £200 too and like i say the 1 claim they did get me they took over 50% of it so adding on the fact i paid £200 i got about £200 to myself.. needless to say i have learnt a massive lesson from this! .. i will be (hopefully) doing this all myself this time round ;-))) if i am allowed to!!

Hi all!

Please help.
I have recently been trying to get a copy of my loan agreement from lloyds tsb (with a view to claiming back the PPI).
At first they said that it would take a few weeks for them to retrieve it from their archives.
I waited three weeks and called them back today only to be told that they could not find the original agreement. They apologised and said that they are still looking but are not very confident of finding it as the agreement is about six years old.

I am aware that the window for claiming back my PPI might be closing and I get the feeling that Lloyds might be fobbing me off until the opportunity has passed.

What can I do?

Hello there

Please try not to worry.
I have just made successful reclaims on loan ppi's from loans taken out 10/11 years ago, and did not even have the agreements, nor did they supply these.
But as long as you have your account number, and you know you were sold and mis sold, you can still continue to make a reclaim.

Follow the procedures to reclaiming directly on lloyds website, there is a reclaim questionnaire, print and complete or ring them to send you one, the address details of where you send your complaint is enclosed on lloyds website too.
http://www.lloydstsb.com/payment_protection_insurance_complaints.asp

Remember to keep copies and allow 8 weeks for a decision.

Good luck.

Email details to Lloyds as well if required.
customer.care.insurance@lloydstsb.co.uk

And the CEO of Lloyds
antonio.osorio@lloydsbanking.com

Forgot to mention, try calling directly in the branch as well, its known many have requested for the agreement by letter, yet by visiting the bank they suddenly find the details.
But failing that and you cannot find the loan account number, if you bank online, Lloyds allow you to go back to around 2002 onwards, and the loan acc number is normally shown next to the monthly loan repayments.
