RBS boss Stephen Hester gave taxpayers a “kick in the teeth” yesterday over bankers’ bonuses.
Mr Hester agreed that banks make savings because they are propped up by the public – and admitted some of that cash had “leaked” into huge payouts to staff.
He made the admission when he was grilled by angry MPs investigating how to prevent the public having to step in again to rescue the financial sector.
It came weeks after Mr Hester pocketed an obscene £7.7million bonus.

I see.
I know it works out differently to what I am aware of loan to credit card ppi, but think interest should also be included.
And was this an offer of goodwill or a settlement in full (upheld in your favour)?
If they said they upheld the case in your favour, then I'm sure 8% int should also be included.
There is no harm in just asking them on this, tell them you just making sure before you decide to accept or not if you want to.
If they agreed to mis selling then, it procedure I think, ring them and ask them if the case was upheld in your favour, shouldn't you have been awarded the 8%.
sorry di another request just looking at my mbna corraspondence there seems to be no direct ppi complaints number on the letter i dont suppose you have a number for them do you please?0 -
I have 2 loans and 1 credit card PPI mis- selling in with Barclays, lodged in February 2011. Two are with FOS as had been put on hold due to JR. Thrilled at the news today.
As far as 8% interest on credit card - RBS made me an offer which included premiums and card interest but not the 8%. Queried it with RBS and the FSA but didn't get anywhere so accepted it as it was as fairly small amount.0 -

Thinking further on the above, how does taxpayers money "just leak" in paying bonuses, that is stealing from the taxpayer.
First there was Fred Goodwin, now there is Mr Hester ???
Beggars belief. We simply cannot have CEO's who operate like this, maybe Mr Hester will repay some of his huge bonus and even allocate it to refunding false PPI selling by the RBS0 -

Hi, I have been following the advice given on this site to get my agreement details from Barclaycard. The problem is I paid this off some time ago and have no paperwork and only through looking at old credit profiles, did I manage to get the last 4 digits of my account number.
I sent the letter off, and got a reply a few days later stating that they couldnt locate my account and asked me to send the full account number to them. They havent retuned the £1 cheque..
Can anyone suggest what I should do next or a way of finding out the full number...
Thanks

right ive just spent 30 mins on bloody hold to mbna !!! right so i havent been awarded the 8% interest because apparently i didnt clear the full amount between now and taking out the card at any point so im not entitled to the 8% interest
also phoned egg for an update and they are still investigating and cant give a time scale she said she received my complaint form on the 7th of june!!!!! thats weird coz i have a letter acknowledging my complaint on the 6th of june and i said the complaint off on the 18th of may along with my credit card complaint which they say they recieved on the 18th of may but it was in the same envelope so how does that work?????0 -
Hi All
This is my first time posting on here although I have used the site for a long time. I need some help, and couldn't think of anywhere that I was more likely to get the right answer. I had an old credit card with HSBC and I was unsure whether I had paid PPI on it or not, so I sent Martin's first letter, asking for a copy of the terms and conditions. I recieved a reply stating that as the card has been either paid off or account closed that they do not have to legally supply the information. I cant post the exact wording as I left the letter at home by mistake, but just wondered if anybody else has anything similar, and what I can do next??
I will post the exact wording tonight, was sure Id brought the letter with me!0 -
