Hiya
Many have made successful reclaims going back into the 90's, and with you already having a med condition at the time of the loan you do have a case.
So yes do give it a go, good luck. The one and only "Dizzy Di"0 -

I think I have a valid claim regarding PPI as I've had a couple of loans in the last 6 years that I paid insurance on. However, I no longer have the paperwork (once the loan is paid, I shred!)
Instead of writing to my bank could I go into my branch and request the T's & C's?
Looking forward to receiving any and all advice.
Yes luke or you couid email Them but a visit to the branch would be better and quicker,If you get no joy sar them (subject access request) this will cost you £10.00 but you will get copies of everything the bank holds on you or £1.00 for a cca0 -
Hi and welcome
First of all what you could do is call into your local bank, if your loan repayments came out of your bank this may allow you to go back some years.
Any loan account numbers are normally shown next to the monthly loan repayment.
If you bank online this may allow you to go back to 2002 or so.
However, if you want to double check if you had ppi you can write to request for a copy of your agreement, this normally includes the t&c's, enclose £1 cheque or postal order, if you do not have the account number then give them as many details as possible.
But there is no harm in calling into your bank and speaking to the branch manager who should be able to check your account details by just using your bank account number.
Good luck.
Sorry Di i did'nt realise you'd posted up an answer for Luke0 -
Hi there
If cancelling after the cooling period, its unlikely to reduce by hardly much, if cancelled within the cooling period - normally 30 days after taking out the loan, then they would have reduced this just down to the loan without the ppi on it.
So if you have a case for being mis sold, they should then when successful reduce the balance to just to loan without the ppi.
Its known that if you want to cancel after the cooling period, they suggest another loan without the ppi to pay off the existing loan, yet this may work out more to borrow because of the ppi included on the balance of the existing loan, however, you do have the right to cancel anytime.
If you need to make a reclaim, as in my above post, follow the procedures directly on lloyds website, completing the reclaim questionnaire.
hope this helps, good luck and all the best on your move.
Thank you! We're way past any cooling off period as the loan was taken out a couple of years ago to cover a Masters Degree (and a bit more, as he was talked into rounding it up to a nice round number). We shall have to hope he's a case for having it mis-sold to him I guess.0 -

Sorry if this has been covered I have tried to read through as many of the posts as I can. I have several accounts that were settled and I now have no paperwork. Can I request a copy of the terms and conditions without the loan or credit card account numbers? If I can then what sort of information do I need to send with my £1 cheque in order for the company to be able to find my old account details? Thank you. Have spent all day reading up on this so far....and I think I have a long way to go, but would have an even longer way without this site...:D0

katylou5859 wrote: »Hi I am new to the forum and would like some help with regarding Citi/Opus. Basically I had a credit with citi which then changed to opus card. I had ppi with citi cards but cancelled it in 2009, but never made a claim to get charges back. I don't recall sigining any agreement for this payment protection charge every month and can't find any agreement. I do think it was made over the phone, but can't be sure on that.
I sent off to opus for a copy of sars documents, which over the last few days I have received 3 large envelopes of stuff from them. They also sent copy of terms and agreement, but not a signed copy of original agreement which i requested. The letter states as follows.
"1. A copy of the original terms and conditions of your agreement, including the original interest rates, applicable at the time of your application.
This copy agreement does not include the signature box, signature or date of signature as in accordance with Regulations 3 (2)(b)(ii) of Consummer Credit(Cancellations Notices and Copies of Documents) Regulations 1983: we are not required to provide them."
Basically at the end of the letter they said " we will not be entering into any further correspondence with you regarding the requirements relating to the provision of a copy agreement"
Is this correct and are they not legally obliged to provide me with original signed copy?
Today I checked through file I have with them and found an agreement with Associates that was the original credit card company I took out this card with. I do believe they were linked to Citi cards. This agreement was not signed by me and has no mention or ticking of box for payment protection
Can someone help with what to do next.
As you have the original agreement i would put a claim in and put a copy of this in.0
