Do I stand a cat in hell's chance or have I been timed out? I have so far made no formal complaint.
I deffo have a case but it was between 96 & 04. Barclays insisted they would not give me the mortgage without their PPI AND they knew both my wife & I were self-employed. They must have had about £8,000 out of me.
Hi there
I wouldn't say it was too late, as many have made successful reclaims from even earlier years, and if you've only became aware of the mis selling you can make them aware of that too.
However, I would post this one in a separate thread below, Dunstonh and MagpieCottage will be able to help and advise on mortgage ppi.
Stay within these reclaiming threads of course, but just start your very own, so it won't be missed by the right ones to help you.
Subject is something like "Mortgage PPI help".
Good luck.;)The one and only "Dizzy Di"0 -
I made a claim against Bank of Scotland in 2007 and was refused a refund. PPI was taken out in 2001 and my claim was declined. Can I now reclaim the PPI back now. Thank You0

Personally I think you should give it another go.
Did they issue you with a final decision with details of the Financial ombudsman service) (FOS)?
If not then your entitled to write to them again until your happy with the outcome of until they issue you with a final decision with details of the FOS.
However, I am not sure if these were then regulated by the FSA, the FOS will only take on complaints if regulated by these or prior to these GISC.
I would give it another go, and if they reject again, then maybe contact the FOS and ask on another avenue on this, they have been suggesting the underwriter/insurer as another direction, but take it from what happens from having another go first, good luck. The one and only "Dizzy Di"0 -

i too am claiming from 2001 and the fos have been extremley helpful as both my broker and lander were not covered by GISC so they are now pursuing via the insurer who were covered by GISC. Give them a call they will help you, it takes time though mine has been with FOS for 16 months so you will have to be patient. just wish we couls get away with not paying our repayments for that long!!!! good luck0 -
years ago they got me to take out insurance to protect my overdraft, which i paid for years. i found out long time ago that my problem even then was ongoing so i cancelled it.
Plus i know that my other old loans had ppi as well. but i dont think i can find proof of this as it was about 8 years ago.
Have i lost all this? because i dont have any records now.

Hello,
I took out a credit card at the tender age of 18 in about 2003 with capital one, and would probably have agreed to ppi. has anyone had any success claiming from capital one from around this date? i also had a barclaycard and store cards with topshop and debenhams around this time. is this too far back to claim?
also (lots of questions!) has anyone had success with claiming for a nationwide loan?
very grateful for any advice!:money:

I took out a loan with M&S Money in April 2004 and was told I wouldnt be accepted for the loan unless I had the PPI with it. I was given my agreement which gave 2 seperate figures for the loan plus interest and the PPI plus interest. I only have a cpl of repayments left but being strapped for cash and after reading a recent letter from M&S asking me to review my PPI to take account of any changes, I decided to try and cancel the PPI. Doing this i thought would reduce my repayments and would just leave me the loan amount to pay. When I called to do this they said it wouldnt reduce my repayments as I pay more of the repayments at the beginning towards the PPI rather than the loan amount, I may also be entitled to a rebate on the insurance due to cancellation. At this point I realised that this may mean I have been sold single premium product, but not being sure I waited for the letter to tell me what my new repayments and rebate would be. This morning I have received a letter saying saying I have been given a 4p rebate and my total repayments for the next 2 and final repayments have reduced by 2p/month. Have I got a case to reclaim the PPI and also have I made the mistake of cancelling the PPI and now stopping me from making a claim?0

Hiya
If you think you have been mis sold, then I would go to them rather than wait for them to contact you, or it may take some time.
However, if all your accounts were with Lloyds and you still bank with them, call into your branch, have a word with your branch manager, and ask them to look into the systems for you, they should do this on request by using your bank account number - which should come up with everything you have taken out with them.
Another way to know is to request a Subject Access Request (SAR), they have 40 calendar days to send all data held on your account, you should be ok, because last year when I requested a SAR I received data going back to early 2000's maybe earlier, even though they are at least supposed to keep data going back the last 6 years.
There is a SAR letter template below - tweak if you want to - to your requirements, and enclose £10 cheque or postal order.

When it comes to reclaiming, there are details on this site here...

Or directly on lloyds website - complete the reclaim questionnaire and send to the address shown on the website, keep copies for yourself and allow up to 8 weeks for a decision. Good luck.
