Hi - I called Barclays, it's secured lending arm (they anwer the phone as UK Secured Lending), this morning to get an update on a claim I filed a few months back. They have confirmed what was announced yesterday but also said that they are waiting for the courts to provide the guidelines for processing the claims before they can process my claim. Is there still a pending action from the courts just as they claim?0

Hello all,
I've just received my phone recording from Vanquis from when I accepted the card.
I requested the recording because when I took out the card in 2008 I agreed to their ROP - I cancelled it last year when I realised I was paying it.
Having listened to the recording, I now understand why I did take it out. The advisor said that they charge 99p per £100 balance. So I would have thought, oh that's £9.99 max. Now, the max balance I've had is £1000, yet I was often making payments around £20 per month, so clearly it's not 99p per £100.
Has anyone else claimed back based on the cost being much higher than they claim?
Another issue is, the advisor says she has given me a personalised recommendation for this product. However, didn't ask ANY questions to establish if it's suitable. Surely this is another mis-sell?
Any pearls of wisdom will be received with thanks before I send off yet another letter to VanquisDetermined to be a thrifty Mama!0 -
Thanks robbedofmymoney
If he is successful what is likely to happen, will they send a cheque or would they take the repayment off his outstanding loan?
At the start of loan 2 it was written in that if he doesn't pay it off early then they will give him back £1000 as a bonus.
We did go into the bank to discuss having PPI removed but they said he would then lose out on that bonus as they would have to re-write the loanrobbedofmymoney wrote: »here goes
Loan 1 you would get back the premiums you paid
12 x 19.45 = £233.40 + 8% simple (£77) = £310.40
and the difference in settlement
583.50 - 233.40 = £250.10 + 8% simple (£73) = £323.10
total refund for loan 1 = £633.50
loan 2
43 x 60.15 = £2586.45 + 8% simple (£379) = £2965.45
your monthly repayments will then go down by £60.15 per month for the remainde rof the loan term0 -

Hi there
To what I know of they should be now getting on with the complaints, now that this issue is all over.
I would keep contacting them for updates.
I have been told by Lloyds they are to now to continue with the complaints - FSA rules etc, but they are unable to give a timescale as such as when we should hear, but I tend to keep in touch with them at regular intervals, good luck. The one and only "Dizzy Di"0 -
