Hiya
Who is this with?
If for a credit card, it could be the care such as for theft etc, but I would ask for the policy details for these if you do not have them.;)The one and only "Dizzy Di"0 -
thanks. I have all the original documents and loan agreement and took out the agreement in 2004. I will contact the financial ombudsman. Many thanks for your help.0

I am asking this question for my friend that I have just been telling about ppi. She got a loan in November 1999 over 7 years at 11.7% for £5400. Interest was £2978.87 and ppi was £1318.93, therefore total repayment of £9697.80. She fell into arrears, had charges added, but did pay the loan off in November 2006 they accepted a slightly lower payment settlement figure through a dca.She has tried to work out all the charges to see how much less she thinks they accepted but is not sure if she has done it correctly as the statement she has from Nationwide is apparently quite confusing to her. Basically what she is asking is
a, can she claim when she got into arrears
b, even though she paid back a little less than they wanted with all the charges will that make a difference to a claim.
c, if she did work it out correctly it would appear that she paid back all but a litttle under £500 of the loan and interest amount in total. Does interest include ppi amount interest in the total.
So if she is entitled will any payment cover the reminder of the loan they let her off as it were and would she be entitled to claim the rest. I am really sorry if this is confusing but it is quite hard to explain 2nd hand,
Oh fiddlesticks I have put my quotes back to front, sorry,
Hi, my friend has now recieved from Nationwide a form to fill in. Question is did you fall into arrears, which she did and is asking for details, does this mean she needs to explain it went to a dca with approx £400 - £500 of bank charges for late payments added on or will they be able to see this from their paperwork and will she need to put the amount she paid back in total on the loan as she has full records on her bank and loan statement of all payments she made, sorry if this seems as though we are a bit thick, but she did not want to fill something in incorrectly and have to start again if they send the form back for more information. Many thanks in advance. Also she asked me to see if anyone would know that if she had to retire due to ill health or a workplace accident would she have got any financial payout from unison or her lgps as she was a member of both at the time of taking the loan out, it is to save having to phone them both as it apparantly takes ages to them to get through.
Hiya
Thats fine and not to worry, and no none of you are thick, these matters can be rather confusing.:D;)
Personally, on the questionnaire, I would give as many details as possible (to save going back to it again) or maybe enclose a letter with the questionnaire just to explain, but they should hold records anyway.
And in her case I would get in touch with unison and ask for the policy details, they should send them to her if she no longer had any details on this, it may vary but they should send copies of what she is covered for - due to ill health or retirement etc.
I would definately check this out.
Maybe someone on here will now more about Unison etc and will post up some details, but as stated this may vary from individual circumstances perhaps.
Good luck on this and ask for further help anytime.:)
So the form is all completed details got from unison and lgps attached, the only thing she is concerned about is could the nationwide or roxburghe debt collection agency have this part settled loan added to her credit report as it is not on her credit report at the moment even though it was settled in october 2006, albeit by a lesser amount, i think what she means is can it start any negative effect on her credit rating. also am i right in explaining to her that it is possible that any compensation due may be kept by nationwide or roxburghe as the loan was settled at a slightly lower amount and they may decide that they want the rest, i got a bit confused with the links i read through. she thinks it means that they can not decide they want anymore monies as an amount was agreed upon and paid to roxburghe and they owned the loan then not nationwide, unless roxburghe are a part of nationwide - even more confused, lol. any help much appreciated, thank you.0 -

Hiya
So your well prepared then? Good one.
I am not too certain on the credit report matter to be honest, but you could post a separate thread about this below, where someone will know the correct answer to this one, keep a check on the credit reports though, it may all be ok.
Normally if there is any debt outstanding/arrears, they do have the right to have this refunded towards this account, anything remaining plus interest is forwarded directly to the customer by cheque payment.
But as stated above, if you post about this matter on a separate thread where it won't be missed, someone will know the definate answers to your questions for you.
Wishing you luck. The one and only "Dizzy Di"0 -
hi plz can someone advise?
Hiya
Have you a local branch for this bank?
I would try speaking to the manager, I read that someone had been fobbed off to start off with via another bank and as soon as they spoken to the manager they came across all the details.
Or speak to the information commissioners office (ICO) and see if they have any suggestions.;)

hi all
looking a bit of advice i have a mortage protection plan that i never asked for or wanted better still never even knew i had until i went through my bank statement.
the plan started in oct 03 and i found i had it in oct 08 and it still running at £16 a month, does this case come under the ppi claim back?
any help much apprecaited.0 -
Hi Totes. Don't know if you got a response to your question. The money website information indicates you may just have a case if you did not know about it and the plan is still current and have documentation or can get hold of Terms and Conditions. Your best bet would be to follow the advice there and also complete to Ombudsnam questionnaire. I have a question too which needs help but will use a seperate box to do that.0
