As Munro Bagger says, there is no need to use a claims company, they will as you know charge you, when you can successful get your money back yourself by having a go yourself, and they only do what we do here.

Its just a matter of completing the reclaim questionnaire as on link below, send to whoever sold you the account, head office or complaints dept, keep copies of everything, and they have 8 weeks to come back with a decision, hope this helps and good luck.

  • I have a HSBC Credit card, which i have payment protections on i have had this card for around 10 years at varies points with differnt amounts of money on and a burtons store card again around 8yrs which i signed up for in store, the question is both of these print the amount of protection on each months statements, In this case were it is printed on statements can you still claim, i can not remeber discusions about ppi when cards were taking out who can remember conversations from 10yrs ago.

In peoples opinion is it worth presuing a claim? what evidence would you be required to give?

Sorry if this repeats questions from other times but there is a lot of pages to sift through.

    Regards

    Hi and welcome

My son was mis sold a store card ppi in store, and was not even 18, he wrote to GE and the complaint was forwarded to Santander, as they do tend to forward complaints on to them now, and within 3 weeks my son was successful.
It would not surprise me if it was just added, so if you believe it was mis sold, go for it.

Follow the link below to the guidelines of reclaiming and good luck.

    Hi all,
I am totally new to this type of thing so please excuse my naivety . . . . .
I've had credit and debit cards for over 25 years with NATWEST.
These include the old natwest gold card and the current natwest private banking with mastercard.
I have no idea if I have paid PPI or anything extra that I can claim back!
Any ideas if I can or where do I start???

    Thanx in advance

Apologies if something like this has been asked before but I really don't have the time to read 500+ pages of forum posts!! :D

    Simple question:

If we go down the route of having a "no win, no fee" company look into reclaiming PPI for us, could there be any repercusions - does it look back on our record or credit rating or anything like that?

    And another quickie question:

Has anyone used the "We Can Claim It" group (one of the "no win, no fee" companies) - based in Blaydon, Gateshead? (just to compare experiences really) - we've got ample paperwork to be getting on with so any help or responses to my questions much appreciated before we post it all off again.

    And one last one:

The fee we'd be paying (if we won) to use this company (above) is 29.5% - has anyone had any hidden costs or anything thrown in without their prior knowledge? I've read the T&Cs and the small print and can't find anything to indicate this (aside from saying that if we have been mis-sold PPI then when we "win" the case the bank/etc would naturally stop the PPI and it'd be up to source our own (reputable) one if we wanted to) - anything else I should be vigilant for?

I wouldnt go down the root of a claims company, Take Di3004 advice, along with others and take the time yourself to claim, its easy, quick and everyone here is willing to help!

    Go for it! :D

I will do it for 10% :D and no hidden charges:p. I will be quids in as it will only cost me postage.
Do it your self, it is easy.
Is this a cc, loan or secured loan?, if you use a comapny you may end up owing them money if your claim does not allow them to take all the fee.

    Hi and welcome.
    And no worries.;)

Is the account is still active?

If so check statements, this normally enclosed if your paying for PPI, or write to them and ask them to send you a copy of the agreement (give them the account number), enclose a £1 cheque or postal order, and request they supply by 12 days.
If the account is still active its likely you will be able to get hold of the copy of the agreement.
However, the free way is, ring them and they will let you know.;)

I know its going some time back, and they may only if successful award you going back to the last 6 years, but if you have any paperwork prior to this, enclose "copies only" of evidence when your making a reclaim.

To make a reclaim, follow the link here below, and keep copies of everything you send and receive.
Allow 8 weeks for a decision, good luck.
