Interesting Incipience, when you do find anything more on this, we would be happy to know more on this matter, as its something else for us to learn on here, thanks.;)The one and only "Dizzy Di"0 -
Hi Folks,
well i received letter from Halifax regarding my PPI claim on a few policies, (mortgage protection, cred card and a bill protector policy) quite pleased as letter only sent on 9th feb, so its quick for them!!:rotfl:they have also included the usualcomplaints leaflet (im amazed at how many i have of these now, same wording, just lots of diff colours from diff companies!!)
only one concern, they have only put the bill protector number on , and the letter states that it is looking into that one only.....
anyone have any ideas if they will be dealt with separately??? If they do not acknowledge the other policies that I clearly included on the letter what should i do then??? I have dealt with them in the past re a mortgage protec claim so i know how utterly pathetic they can be!!:mad:Please be nice to all moneysavers!

Hi Pebbles
Hope your well.;)
Not actually heard of that before, but I had taken it if they were separate complaints they should deal with this as a separate matter......
I would ring them to make sure hun, see what they say, hope they sort it all out for you.;)The one and only "Dizzy Di"0 -
Hi i have a capital one card i can only afford the minimum payments every month but i still pay the PPI on it should i cancel and claim back my money.
Hi there
If this is worthless to you yes just write to them and ask them to cancel with immediate affect.
The thing is with credit cards, say for instance your monthly amount of payments was a minimum amount of £80, that normally takes off the amount of say £35 of some of that of what is owed, the rest of it on the interest charges and PPI, yet even when cancelled the next statement may show any different in the monthly repayment (if you no longer use the card), but more will come off in what's owed, that the way mine worked.
However if you feel you were mis sold this in anyway yes claim for the PPI back, plus the interest and charges accurred.
If your succesful here, they pay back what you have paid on this card of what I mentioned above.
Check this out here:
http://www.moneysavingexpert.com/reclaim/ppi-loan-insurance
This link is for loan ppi and credit card ppi reclaiming, check this out for any reasons, and if any of them occur to you then add that to the letter as well, there is a template letter on the link, but if you can use your own words etc, they have 8 weeks to respond.
Let us know how you get on and if we have to take this to the next step we can help you, in case another letter is required if not successful, as generally you should get the chance to write back to them until you receive the final response.
There are other ways this can be looked into if not successful, for example with the financial ombudsman service (FOS) who are a free service.
Post all letter to by recorded delivery, good luck and let us know if you need further help.;)The one and only "Dizzy Di"0 -

Well it hasnt taken quite as long as I expected but had a result from Northern Rock. They have agreed to cancel the ppi and repay interest on the payments made at 8%. Although we wont see it as we are on a dmp this has reduced the whole balance from... wait for it.... £40000 down to £21,000 which is quite a result and would not have been possile without martin setting up the site and people like di3004 helping out us newbies.
Many thanks again
