Hello all.
A possible update on our situation. We got rejected by Lloyds on PPI aaages ago and left it too long to go to the ombudsman and tried to re-complain. I posted about it here: #4317 and #4325 . As you can see, that was over a year ago. Lloyds ignored our next letter so we went back to the ombudsman who said it had been too long and that Lloyds had refused to look into it again. Job done we thought
Today, out of the blue, we have recieved a letter saying they have calculated how much we should recieve, over £3000  and saying that they have recieved our signed slip back and would pay the money into our bank account in 21 days. Checked the bank and the money is there!!
Problem is this is the first we've heard about it and we didn't send any slips back. They also have calculated the amount based on the 'fact' that we have paid the loan off. This is not actually true, we have over £4000 left to pay on it.
Really confused as to what to do now. Can they take the money back out if they decide it is a mistake?
There are DCAs knocking and this money could really come in handy but I dont want to tell my mum to go ahead and spend it if they are just going to ask for it (or just take it) back.
Help!
Thanks xReclaiming for family and friends. Won 4/13 so farHSBC CC - £263.25, Halifax CC - £179.45, HFC PPI - £589.00, HSBC PPI - £498.86, Lloyds PPI 1 - £4000 -

I am looking into claim back on a loan i have recently paid off which i have all the paperwork for, but reading the post i can see that you can claim back on cards. i have had cards in the past which i have now paid off and closed, i no longer have paperwork for these, but wondering if i can still claim and how i would go about finding out the details of the old accounts.0

Hi and well done
this is yours, so I would not worry.
We also received a further payment out of the blue from Lloyds over a month ago of almost that amount, they stated it was the remainder of one they did upheld earlier this year, but they underpaid.
A few of us have had these, the letter should also confirm on the back that you do nothing because this is what is owed to you.
Well done!:beer:The one and only "Dizzy Di"0 -

Hi and welcome
It makes no difference if the accounts are settled or active, if you were mis sold the ppi for any reason then give it a go.
You could check any monthly statements you may still have for the account number, or ring them and ask if they are able to supply any details, if this was from your bank maybe you could call in and ask for the details.
Another way really would be to request a Subject Access Request (SAR), give them as many details as possible in order to track down your data (if you've no account number) and you have to enclose £10 cheque or postal order for this request, they have 40 calendar days to comply.
There is a SAR template on link below.
(also just to state, if the accounts are with the same company then only one SAR request is required as they should supply all the info you held under them).
Again if with your bank you bank account number will do.
Otherwise SAR's will have to be requested for separately.
https://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/discussion/1475553
Please be aware though SAR's are optional but may help if your unable to locate your data no other way, hopefully they will be good enough to send you the details via phone call request or by calling into the branch if with your bank.
So as long as you have an account number or give them as many details as possible, you can give it a go on the reclaming anyway, by completing the reclaiming questionnaire, this replaced the reclaim template letter.
Send to whoever set your policy up (the head office) post by recorded delivery for your proof of posting.
Remember to keep copies of all you send and receive, in case you need to refer to these at some point, or maybe even complain to the Financial ombudsman service (FOS).
They normally have 8 weeks to give a decision, good luck and please keep us posted.
The reclaiming questionnaire issued by the FOS to send to whoever responsible to setting your accounts up here:
