    Hi All,

Hoping someone can help me... I've sent off the claim questionaire to lloyds and recieved a letter back saying appologies I feel this way blah blah blah and that they're looking into it. How long will it take for them to be in touch again??? Has anyone had any dealings/success with lloyds reclaiming?? Many thanks if anyone can help me.
Hi, yeah LLoyds are not the best to deal with but just be persistant. I had 2 loans with them and sent off a claim. They upheld one but I'm still waiting for the money! and the other one is being looked into apparantly but they dont seem to let you know what is going on. Ive had to email and phone but still no news at the moment. Just keep at it and if you need to go to FOS. Good luck

Apologies if this is getting a bit out of sync, but it's a reply to thank 'amersall' for answering my post number 14377 and 14381 of yesterday...

I've just come off the phone to Barclays and they say they are not able to make an offer in respect of the PPI at this point in time as they are ALL subject to 'judicial revue'.

Could someone on here (amersall or di3004 are hot on this sort of detail) advise me if this is correct, or is it just a fob-off?

Just to reiterate, I have a letter from Barclays dated 29th September saying they will contact me again by 29th October, but that date came and went and still nothing....hense the phone call to them today.

Question is: Should I write to them again, giving them a set period (a couple of weeks in which to make me an offer), after which I will go straight to the Ombudsman. Or what ?

    Any thoughts on this please?

    thanks :-)

    Hi there

Realistically they should still be dealing with complaints prior to the 8th October, but the FSA have suggested that if the banks confirm they are freezing until further notice to move on to the FOS, below is the copy of the email I received from the FSA yesterday, so hopefully this will help and help you decide on what action to take from here, good luck.;)

    Dear Mrs

Thank you for your email dated 11 October 2010 concerning the decision by certain banks to stop handling PPI complaints.

I would like to provide some information concerning PPI complaints which may be helpful to you. We have proposed a package of measures to reform the PPI market and protect consumers. The package will ensure customers are treated better when buying PPI and more fairly when complaining about it. Firms have to put these measures in place by 1 December 2010.

Some banks have challenged these new rules in court. The court is considering the arguments and may not reach a decision for some months. In the meantime, firms should go on assessing and answering PPI complaints. However, we are aware that some firms, including Lloyds TSB, have made a decision to cease handling PPI mis-selling complaints. In the interests of consumers, firms will be expected to continue handling complaints while the judicial review is ongoing.

If a firm tells you that it won't give you an answer to your PPI complaint until after the court case, then you can take your complaint directly to the Financial Ombudsman Service for a decision if you don't want to wait for the firm's future answer. The Financial Ombudsman Service's work deciding complaints is going on as normal and has not been affected by the court case.

Helpful information on this and PPI complaints can be found on our website at:

    https://www.fsa.gov.uk/pages/consumerinformation/product_news/insurance/payment_protection_insurance_/ppi_changes/index.shtml

If you have any future questions on financial services and products, you may find it easier to call our Consumer Helpline on 0845 606 1234 (call rates may vary). You can also access relevant information online at

    https://www.fsa.gov.uk/pages/consumerinformation

and via the Consumer Financial Education Body's website:

    https://www.moneymadeclear.org.uk/.

I trust that I have been able to clarify the situation regarding handling of PPI complaints. As advised, if the firm put your complaint on hold then you should contact the Ombudsman to pursue your complaint. I wish you all the best in reaching a positive resolution.

    Yours sincerely

Thanks di - will let you know how I get on

    Hiya,

Sent my complaint inti FOS re Amex PPI & FOS have returned it saying that they cant deal with the complaint as Amex were not regulated by them at the time I took out the card / PPI.
They did go on to say that if I can tell them who was the underwriter for their PPI at that time they may be able to deal with it.

Any Ideas how I find this out - cant see them telling me if I ring them up.

Anyone else had this problem & if so how did you get on?

    Thanks & Regards to all,
    Matty.

    Hi Matty

This have been the same for many of us here.

What you should do now is write to the lender or broker (the lender in this case I believe) and request for a copy of the Insurance Policy booklet details.

It seems these are requested for separately and we do not always receive these when we take out the finance, where they then send us copies of the documents.

So write to them for Insurance policy booklet details, ask if they can send them as soon as possible, then when you receive this, the details of the insurer/underwriter are enclosed on them.

So from there, you then write to them as you did with the broker, and if they refuse, the FOS will be able to take this on because they would have been governed/regulated.

Actually mine is being seen by the adjudicator right now, it can take some time, but its another avenue to take, its believed these would have had part liability as well, because these are the ones who should check the eligibility of the insurance, and they then either decline the loan or accept if you know what I mean?;)

    Hi
So sorry about the loss of your beloved husband, that is of course enough to deal with without these creditors putting pressure on you etc.

If the PPI did not cover you then it was worthless to you, so in this case I would give it a go on the reclaiming, I would not bother using a claims company to be honest, many have had no end of hassle and of course they will charge you at the end of it, where it all rightfully belongs to you, and all they do is what we do on here, but the difference is this site is free, the advice and the reclaiming.

I would complete the reclaiming questionnaire that replaced the template letter on this site, send to whoever set up your policy from the start, keep copies of all you send and receive in case you need to refer to this at some point, give them 8 weeks to give a decision, if they don't give you a favourable decision or they ignore your complaint by then, complain to the financial ombudsman service (FOS) who are also a free service to use.

    More below with reclaiming questionnaire...
    http://www.moneysavingexpert.com/reclaim/ppi-loan-insurance#reclaim

You could optionally write to them instead if you want to, or write a cover letter to enclose with the questionnaire, that is up to you of course either way or both.

Hope this helps, please keep us posted and ask for any help if required. X
