ah right cool thanks. He hasnt got the account number but we are going to try and find out!! Hopefully I will find it on one of his statements, can you get them by writing to them? My head already hurts doing this.

And yes you can try retrieving the loan account number on bank statements as well, for example, if your boyfriend paid his loan from his bank account, and banks online, this should allow him to go back by about 7 years, the loan account number is normally shown next to the monthly repayments.;)

I contacted a Solicitor 18 months ago regarding my ill father being missold a PPI as he was self employed. We are now on our third solicitor as it has been passed over. We are still no closer to the end and I can not understand why it is taking so long what course of action should I now take to get this resolved?
Hi there, and sorry to hear about this, your first step would be to phone the solicitor and tell them you are not happy with the way this has been dealt with and the time scale, you should ask for them to terminate the contract in writing and if they do not comply, you will put a complaint in to the moj. This may not work but i would give it a go and see what they say. You can do this claim for the price of a couple of stamps and we will help you on here. Tell them you are not happy and why and i hope you get the right result with this. Please keep us posted.x

Amersall, thanx apparently the financial guy is going to claim his fees from the trust deed accountant and we will have no more to pay to the trust deed/accountant . We thought we would have had the chance to get the monies but hey ho.
I am glad, at least you wont be paying anymore out.But am sorry you wont get anything back, could you ask if you could have the interest paid to you, the 8%? they may not agree to this but you never know, as if it were not for the ppi you would have earnt interest on this money if you had banked it, and why should this go back to the creditors? as this is interest you personally have been deprived of and not the creditors. I would be cheeky and ask about this.x

    Your very welcome:D

The FOS also supply the payment protection reclaimning questionnaires through the post to what I know of, you can contact them to make sure on this first.
But make sure you ask for the reclaiming of ppi form and not the fos complaints form though.:D
    http://www.financial-ombudsman.org.uk/contact/index.html

The only other thing really is just to write a letter to make a reclaim.

The reclaiming template letter was actually replaced by the reclaim questionnaire on this site, so if you can try to write in your own words, where its also know to have more success than using a reclaim template letter.;)

Basically you just start the letter by making sure you write the account number.

And request they refund ALL the Payment Protection Insurance (PPI), and interest from the account this was paid into.

Then give all your reasons that applies to your boyfriend.
So as your boyfriend already had protection in place, you need to confirm this, and state this policy was worthless due to this reason, and if the policy was discussed then you would have been given the opportunity to confirm this.

Ask they comply by 8 weeks.

Finally confirm - if you don't receive a favourable decision, you will consider taking further action through the Financial ombudsman service (FOS) or via the courts.

(Mostly its the FOS direction though), but state both of the above, it may get them thinking.

Hi there, you dont need the terms and conditions to go mis sell, he has insurance elsewhere and if you look at the reasons for mis sell
    http://www.moneysavingexpert.com/reclaim/ppi-loan-insurance#checklist
If any or all apply to your boyfriend then write a letter to the banks (with the account number) and tell them you were mis sold this ppi, and give your reasons and you want the ppi back that has been paid to date with interest, it is that easy.I am not knocking template letters, but they needed too much info for me, so i just penned a few lines in my own words and that worked just as good. Good luck with this and keep us posted.x

hi all, have just checked the address of the third part supplied by GE Money and its:-

    Active Mortgage Management PLC
    Springfield House
    Wilmslow
    Cheshire
    SK9 5BA

Sadly there is no company number so I assume I need to go straight to the ombudsman?

  • Wow that sounds much easier!! Thanks to both of you!

Any ideas on how to get back statements from barclays and halifax they have decided not to let you look at back of statements :(

if i could help you with anything I would... unfortunatley the only thing I know anything about is putting money in a pot and teaching kids
