I was on a Trust Deed it has finished in June of this year and In august I received a letter from my Deed people to say that they were sending a Financial guy to come and speak to my husband and I so that they could claim back the PPI from our creditors and put the monies back against the Trust Deed. Now I have to wait until this is complete before the Trust Deed will issue the certificate that it has been completed. Hope this helps0

hi all,
this is a first time question from me .
is there any way i can fill a claim for a mortgage ppi started in 1985 and paid off early 2008?
it was a straight forward repayment mort and i am and was self employed.
is this a stupid question or not, have i missed deadlines? or something else?
Waiting with bated breath, Gmann27
Hi and welcome
I can't see why not, if you still have the account details and your reasons for being mis sold the ppi, then give it a go anyway.
You can just complete the reclaiming questionnaire as on stage one of reclaiming below........
http://www.moneysavingexpert.com/reclaim/ppi-loan-insurance#reclaim
Keep a copy for yourself too.
You send to whoever set up and arranged the policy from the start, so if you used a broker you pursue them.
They have 8 weeks to give a decision, they may ask for more time.
Post by recorded delivery for your proof of posting.
If you want further help on this matter, as its in relation to mortgage ppi, you could ask Dunstonh for help and advice, but if you do, start a new thread of your own amongst these ppi threads.
Good luck with this.;)The one and only "Dizzy Di"0 -

I took a loan and credit card out with Egg around 2002. I still have the credit card but transferred the remainder of my loan to Smile.
I had insurance on both the credit card and loan and it was definitely missold to me BUT a few years ago I decided to cancel my insurance. Am I still eligible to try and reclaim the insurance I did pay or does the fact that i cancelled the insurance render any attempts to reclaim charges pointless?0 -

Hi Steve
Your very welcome.
Right, it is normally those who arranged the policy is the ones you pursue, so if they have confirmed its that of the company of whom they gave you details of, then I would try to write to them or ring them if you can get hold of the details, to make sure that GE have sent you details.....
If these are them as below then they are in liquidation, but make sure its the correct ones first by checking out the company number, GE should give your the company details of the business they gave details of to you......but I have found these here which prove they are in liquidation......
Name & Registered Office:
ACTIVE MORTGAGE MANAGEMENT PLC
TOMLINSONS ST JOHNS COURT
72 GARTSIDE STREET
MANCHESTER
M3 3EL
Company No. 04063387Status: Liquidation
Date of Incorporation
So if this is the case, you then need to contact the FSCS, and ask if this company are listed with them, if so then they will arrange to send you a claim form through the post.
http://www.fscs.org.uk/contact-us/
Any problems, and they cannot deal with your claim (in case they are not listed) then contact the Financial ombudsman service (FOS) and ask on your best direction to take from here.
http://www.financial-ombudsman.org.uk/contact/index.html
You could contact the FOS anyway and ask for advice first if you want to.;)
Please keep us informed Steve, and we can take it from your outcome.
Good luck.glad to have been of help before.x

Hi,
I've sent off the questionnaire to Firstplus at the beginning of the month and recieved a letter saying that they would write back by 30th Sept. I've just recieved the letter saying that they haven't concluded their investigation and will write back to me by the 28th October.
Has anyone else been given the run-around like this before and can anyone give me advice as to what my options are?
Thanks

Hi Dom and Welcome
Unfortunately this seems to be the case with most companies.
They like other companies have huge backlogs and now have the FSA on their backs to investigate complaints properly, so are taking a little longer than the 8 weeks they are entitled to.
I would keep with them and see what the result brings, the good thing is they have kept you updated and not ignored your complaint.
Fingers crossed and please keep us posted.
Cheers.:);)The one and only "Dizzy Di"0 -
